![]() Long ago, in an era not much different from this one, Tempo held both the horses and the wolves, along with falcons, eagles, ravens and crows. Back then, there were no conflicts, and the wolves and horses avoided each other. One day, the birds of the sky and the equines and wolves of the land met together. It was decided that a bird would bond with each foal or pup. The eagles and the falcons were the choice birds for most of the equines, where as the crows and ravens were suited to most of the wolves more. And that was how things were, with the few exceptions, as there always is. At one point in time, the humans came. They tried to kill the wolves and tame the horses. The two animals held a meeting, and decided something had to be done. At that time, a bright light blinded everyone and a heavenly voice spoke. The voice told them that they would be blessed with powers to help them rid Tempo of the humans who betrayed the laws of nature with their machines. When the wolves and horses asked why, the voice simply answered mysteriously with the following: "The Prey and the Predator becoming one will threaten all who stand in their way, but the bond will fall when trouble is no longer present." Confused, the sides went home. The powers spoken of began to show themselves and develop. They practiced together, finding combinations possible, and they sorted out plans. This continued for a year, as they numbers began to dwindle more and more with each passing day. Finally, the time had come. The wolves, horses and their bird counterparts led an attack on the humans, wiping them out. The peace continued for a while, but slowly each side wanted to be better than the other, and they split apart again, slowly forgetting their powers in their blind rages, striving to be better than the others. There were, as there always are, exceptions. They were cast out and named misfits. These few never forgot the powers, or the war against the humans that had bonded the two sides together. Their numbers grow, and their numbers fell, but they never helped either side with the war, and they keep to themselves and others like them, to avoid the conflict as much as possible. And that leaves us here, at their current position. Both sides are equally split. The misfits are at a small number as rage and hatred boil in the hearts of the horses and wolves of the land and their birds of the sky. Will you tip the scales and cause one side to reign over all, or will you be the one to end the fighting? .change the odds. ![]()
