Welcome to Scottie’s Club, Miner! Thank you for choosing us. Now you’re probably wondering just what you’ve gotten yourself into. The answer is simple: a lot of fun, silly. ![]() As you might know, the server is primarily survival based, with some minigames and little side quests for when you rage quit from mining because you didn’t see that creeper by the lava pool. But let’s clarify things by giving a few definitions, shall we? Show World: You’re going to see this mentioned a lot. The Show World is a 3000x3000 meter (or block) box around Spawn. This is where you will find most official server buildings, many of the older “Locations”, and the natural beauty of Minecraft. The Show World’s primary purpose is that if the wilderness gets completely nuked (we have measures to help prevent this), there will still be a small reminder of what the server once was. It also provides some buffs like automatic healing for half your health bar, a snack for your stomach*, and other benefits. This will also be the area in which you start your adventure. Locations: Creative, isn’t it? These are <supposedly> remote locations with buildings full of loot for the taking. But nothing’s truly free, and you’ll have to earn your goodies. It helps to bring a friend along, too. The further the walk, the more challenging it will be, but also the more rewarding! TP Hub: This is the hub for all teleportation. Here you will find out going teleportation via command signs to different places around the server, and you will often be teleported here from other places when returning to the main area. As of this writing, this is also the only safe way to access the minigames (if you join via command, a bug will likely occur that will wipe your inventory, and that’s just as bad a creeper gettin’ ya!). Please wipe your feet before entering, and keep your sword handy as mobs have been known to spawn in there from time to time. TP Point: The code of your TP Point is very important to remember. Think of these as forward bases on the edge of the Show World. These will be your ticket to getting quickly to and from the center of the server to the wilderness and therefore your home! Simply right click on a TP Point sign in the TP Hub and you will be taken there, and vice versa. TP Points also have small structures like a village or a windmill attached. You can get some basic supplies here free of charge (okay, some things really are free in Minecraft). Staff: A familiar term with those who are acquainted with any type of server, business, or event. These are the guys that help us run the show. Don’t be afraid to ask them stuff, they won’t bite and will be more than happy to help! Don’t forget to show them appreciation as they are all volunteers. Players: This would refer to you and your buddies! So, go ahead, say hello to someone. That could be the start of a wonderful friendship. <3 Now that we have that defined, what do you do when you first spawn in? Being the nature of Minecraft, that is entirely up to you. However, we suggest getting familiar with the rules first (that helps keep you out of trouble), and then getting used to the basic structures of the server, particularly the spawn area. There is a public pig farm at spawn for your convenience as well. We then suggest picking a TP Point. You can pick randomly, find one in your favorite direction, or try them all and see which one suites your fancy! Teleport there, then travel out a little bit away from the Show World, punch a tree down, and place a chest. Tada! Gold blocks appear and that area of land is claimed by you! There is more basic information on how claim plots here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDsjXB-BaE0&index. As of this writing, claim blocks accumulate for a player at 100 blocks an hour. Buying blocks is not enabled, but is a planned feature for the server. That’s a very basic overview. However, there’s always something new to discover! Feel free to ask a staff member and visit the forums at http://s15.zetaboards.com/279th_MC_Official/index ! Thank you once again for choosing Scottie’s Club! Have a blessed and bountiful mine! -Scott_is_Great, Owner *Snack for you Hunger Bar. We will not mail Cheetos, Doritos, or Slim Jims to your door. |
