Ahh that moment when you have the flag and all of a sudden its like a silent movie and you think you have lost the flag lol, coz theres no sound.

TBH there are a couple of fixes. But the most reliable fix is to alter a file in your AC directory. Its simple just rename a file and its fixed.
The problem lays with OpenAL it has migrated from 32bit to 64bit but in truth it seems it does not readily work for everyone in AC.
So the answer is to return to 32bit even though you may be using a 64bit machine. But like I said its an easy fix, also do not worry it will not cause any issues with other programs or damage your PC in anyway.
ok here we go.

Open file explorer.
Look in programs file x86 ( this is where by default AC is archived)
look for the Assaultcube directory
Then bin_win32 directory.

This is where the culprit is.
Simply rename this file openal32_RemoveThisPartToUseOpenAL-Soft.dll
to openal32.dll
Restart Assaultcube and the problem should now be gone.

Second fix
This one works for most but not everyone.
During the game type in this

/bulletairsound 0

This basically switches off some sound glitches in windows. IDK much about this to be honest. But it seems that some sounds do not implement well with windows using bulletsound. So switch it off.

One of these will work for you GL
