Click on the name, then profile options, there's a number of choices in the drop down menu.

The site looks GREAT, am really enjoying the new layout and features!

I particularly appreciate the new link at the top grouping the most recent posts, very handy for a compulsively frequent visitor, LOL. A quick rundown of other nifty features might be appropriate for old people who are dumb at computers like me!

I don't have, or know of where you might find a blow by blow comparison of the two systems, or what particular user advantages Zeta might have. From an admin point of view Zeta offers the possibility of multiple themes and my own experience is that the Zeta admin panel is easier to work. When switching to Zeta the loss of email alerts has always been an issue, but subscribing/tracking a topic should overcome this. Otherwise I would suggest you explore stuff for yourself by pressing buttons and see what happens! I'm happy to answer questions, although some of them might need to be referred to the support forum, but it's no big deal. I'm also happy to try and accommodate requests for customisation and if you see an emoji elsewhere that you'd like to have here, let me know and I'll add it. All with Robert's permission of course!

Use sign out, it should appear somewhere towards the top left of your screen. If you're using IPB 3 there's a bug that needs fixing, but I haven't quite worked out how to fix it yet. The menu bar with the sign out button is absent, but I'm not sure where I can find it! . It should be visible on the other themes.

Unfortunately email alerts are disabled on Zetaboards, they will only enable them in return for filthy lucre. :-/

To follow a thread use track topic:

There is something at the bottom that says:
"Track Topic · E-mail Topic"
Clicking Preferences takes you to User Controls where you can see your subscribed thread and when the last post was posted. There, click on the Topic title and you will go to the last post of the thread.
The E-mail Topic is for sending the topic to somebody you think might be interested in it.

You can also subscribe to a whole category by clicking the "Subscribe to this forum" at the bottom of the page of the category.
Thanks Paul, yes I was on IPB3 & the sign out button wasn't there. I've changed to Mindflay (whatever the hell that means!) and it has appeared!

'Subscribe to forum' was one of the other things that I couldn't find, I'll have another look now. I did find out what the 'e-mail topic' did - can't think I'll use that much!

Cheers

Subscribe to a forum is at the bottom of the page that is top of the tree of any given forum section. For instance, if you wanted to subscribe to the General Discussion forum, go to the front page by clicking 72nd Aircraft at the top left of this page, scroll down and click on General Discussion, then scroll down to the bottom where you will see Subscribe to this forum.

Paul, going to my post that started this thread I now see an Edit Thread Title button at the upper right. Now I can correct my misspelling; isn't the 21t century wonderful?

Oh wait; it doesn't work! :haha:

You can correct a thread title by editing your first post in the thread, but it needs to be enabled within the board control panel and I don't have access to that. Perhaps Robert might sort it. You will find that there are some functions visible but not enabled, this is because themes that you can copy and paste into the board template may be designed for subscription boards that have extra functionality. I could work my way through the code to remove unwanted function buttons, but if you were to see how much code there is to work through you'd see that it's a job worth saving for those times when you're suffering with insomnia. ;)

Another question. I have been poking around, but I have not found a way to have more than 15 topics display per page in any section. I used to have both general and the new stuff sections display 50/page. The font size seems smaller too

I think number of topics per page is controlled by a setting in the control panel. Robert would need to adjust that.

The board text size can be shifted by zooming in or out on the page. Hold down ctrl and use either the +/- keys, or scroll the mouse wheel to adjust the zoom setting. You can also use zoom with images.

I've not experienced any issues, everything runs fine for me. Have you another browser you can try?

It may have been an issue on my end. Seems to have gone away now.

I was getting a huge lag when typing, and then this long running script error, followed by the text block going blank. I had to retype the above message three times last night before it stuck.

But all seems to be well now, nevermind.

Coming back to 'Subscribe to forum' - stupid question, but what does it do? I realise you said e-mail notifications cost money, so I'm not now expecting those unfortunately, but I've 'subscribed' to 'Completed models' & when I came back to the site 10 minutes or so ago I couldn't see anything telling me that there were 8 new models posted since I last visited.

So as I say, stupid question, but what's the point of subscribing - am I missing something blindingly obvious?

It's not at all obvious and are there are no instructions to help us find stuff, but it is quite simple. Click preferences and you will find the topics you are subscribed to by scrolling down.
