Special Hobby P-40N; Anyone got one yet?

Has anyone managed to get their hands on the Special Hobby P-40N yet? I see they are #2 in Hannants "Top 10" list and my finger has been hovering over the mouse button to place an order a few times. But before I do, I'd really like to hear a first impression from someone with the kit (rather than just CAD images and pre-release sprue shots) but without the manufacturer's promotional spiel.

If I didn't already have a lifetime's supply of P-40s in the stash I'd throw caution to the wind and just order a few! But I'd like to know if the SH kit is truly a worthwhile improvement over the current crop. I am confident it is all that has been promised, but Id just like to hear it from someone with the plastic in their hands.

Please let us know what they're like once they arrive.

I just noticed that as of today Hannants have the P-40E in stock too.

I was looking at Hannant's for something else and also saw that. My order (including the SH P-40N) shipped yesterday :) I chose 'with tracking' this time, so hopefully it will move through customs more quickly than my previous order which took three weeks

I ordered a few plus some other items direct from Special Hobby, but like others, I am still waiting for the package to arrive. It does look like a solid kit though.

A little horse d'oeuvre by way of a video unboxing.

If you are wondering why I called it a horse d'oeuvre that isn't ham in the vol au vents

Just resurrecting this thread - for those who may be interested, Special Hobby are releasing their version of 'overtrees' for this and the P-40E. They are calling it 'basic'
Cheers

That's good to know. This is exactly what I recommended to Petr when he first posted some images here.

With so many possibilities from existing aftermarket decal sheets, an "Overtrees" / "Joy Pack" style of release makes perfect sense.
