Are all Authentic Decals sheets known to fall apart?

I am considering their 1/72 Curtiss P-40 Warhawk in the Russian Sky sheet and would be interested in hearing if anyone has this sheet and if so, has experienced these issues.

Wouldn't any varnish do rather than more expensive dedicated products?

I can attest and verify that I had the exact same problems and issues with Authentic Decals on my recently completed Hasegawa E-2C Hawkeye. I sprayed a coat of Future over the sheet once I discovered the problem. I have another sheet from Authentic Decals for EA-6B Prowler`s so I am a bit concerned and will be well aware of any disintegration of the markings beforehand.
