I've been pondering my A+V kits of the Tsybin LL series of research aircraft. Is there any reliable information as to how they (it?) were painted? All the photos I've seen show a dark color. Cheers, Woody |

Check out this page Soviet Colors. Look at the table Camouflage paints for Soviet aircraft 1945-1947, basically use a satin or slightly gloss AMT4 Dark green |

Thanks Stimpy, wouldn't have guessed that one. So far I've heard red and dark gray, and I've wondered about the civil blue as well. Cheers, Woody |

Every profile I've seen show this one in green. Other prototypes by other manufacturers, eg Lavochkin are in the bluish grey and early Sukhoi seem to have been natural metal, so this isn't my judgment, just what other authors and investigators would seem to show. |

It does make sense since it looks like it's painted the same as the wheels, which theoretically should be green. Cheers, Woody |
