Leading on from my last question (decided a new thread would be most appropriate), what do others recommend as the best starting point to do the prototype Mossie? I almost attempted one many years ago using the Matchbox kit, when it was the best bomber-nose Mosquito available in this scale. I assume the Tamiya B.Mk.IV kit would be the starting point of choice these days...? I have a set of resin short nacelles & tailplanes that I picked up from the SAM Publications website about a decade ago and whilst I don't recall which kit they are supposed to fit, I'd make a guess that they are for the Tamiya Mk.IV. From memory they were marketed as PR nacelles so I'm not sure how different they would be to those on the prototype. I expect they are probably not too different, if at all. The Sam Publications Modeller's Datafile for the Mosquito describes building a prototype but not in our scale. |

I have those nacelles also, as I recall they are for the Tamiya kit. Between the conversion article and drawings everything you need to know for the conversion is in the SAM Datafile. Cheers, Woody |
