Mike: I had spinal stenosis surgery in early April of 2018. You're right, the "before" state is not very pleasant, and makes it so that any excuse to do nothing but rest the back is immediately jumped at. Surgery was successful for me, though I do have some residual issues and stiffness. Don't let them muck about - my surgeon's office was so inefficient it took them nearly 6 months to get the surgery scheduled, which gave the stenosis enough time to puncture the spinal cord and cause leakage. You think stenosis is fun - try a 4-day spinal headache! Yikes. The surgeon was great; his office not so much. But this surgery is pretty routine nowadays, and it will make a huge difference on the other side, if my experience is any guide. Best of luck to you.

Mike,
I'm so sorry to hear of your spinal issues. In that regard I've been blessed, but it seems the rest of my family hasn't, including SWMBO, so you have my sympathies sir.
