Trying to find a new F4 Phantom " marines"; do we need some new kits or releases?

Im interested in Vietnam era F4 Phantom II USMC .

To best of my knowledge there are very few new kits depicting such an aircraft, seems the best bet is Hasegawa ( hard to get hold sometimes & expensive) ? I know Fujimi did release one ( but this would now be old stock or a 2nd hand item) , same goes for Monogram/ Accurate Minatures ( Happy to have one, but most seem in the US & expensive to ship to Australia) The other option is Esci ( but there again an old stock now & seems hard to come by). Not keen on the Italeri F4S ( don't want the slatted wing version) So I'm very happy for any ideas about what's out there in the market place or if some one has one in their overcrowded stash ?

Perhaps we need to cross fingers a new one my come in next few years? I think the hobby could do with a newly tooled F4C/B/D Phantom?

PS to keep expenses down a bit Im not that keen on purchasing a US Navy or US Air force Phantom & then buying aftermarket decals .

cheers.

I can't remember the last time I used kit decals. I wish every manufacturer did what AZ and Eduard did and sold just the kit without the decals.

Don't discount the new Academy F-4J kit. Yes, it is a multi-colored plastic, press-fit kit, but it is a very good Phantom. It may not come with Marines markings, but there have been plenty made in the aftermarket. A couple of drawbacks of the new Academy kit are the one-piece canopy and the lack of the characteristic pull rings on the ejection seats. They got a little too simplified there. But then there are a LOT of aftermarket seats, too.

Charlie's Plastic Models has some

a search on there for Phantom gave me 3 1/4 pages of them.

You will have to watch out for scale though, I couldn't get it to search just for 1/72 models.

The Fujimi kits show up about page three or so,,,,,but, he has Fujimi and Monogram there

If you are willing to go new tool Hasegawa, he has the KA "Blue Box" series F-4B/N and F-4J, and each of those includes a USMC option, as do the RF-4B (of course)
yep, one of each USN squadron
