I need some help from some Hurricane guys.

P2569 I know it is a Mk.1, but any way to tell if it is a rag wing or tin wing?

The position of the landing light in peebeep's picture indicates a metal wing Hurricane

As the man said, but P serials were all metal wings, as I understand it .

It's a good day to build.

I know very little about the differences between Hurricanes. I am starting to realize that I know far less than I realized.

Time spent modeling is not deducted from your lifespan.

I spent most of my money on beer and women. The rest of it I just wasted.

You're not alone. If it is any consolation, there's no such thing as a simple aeroplane, and the Hurricane is no worse than most others - at least those built in equivalent numbers. But there is perhaps more variation in the Mk.I than in later marks.

Precisely my reaction. The other indicia are correct as well.

There is only one important question that needs to be asked with regard to the Hurricane.

Will Airfix finally give us a metal wing 1/72 kit in 2017?
I predict riots if they don't.

I don't see that they will, soon. Certainly not in 2017.

They have a Mk I and a Mk IIc in their catalog, both modern toolings (ignoring quality of the Mk II). Most customers won't know difference, just a Hurricane. Some will know guns vs cannon, that's good enough. A few, like us here, will know rag vs tin wing, 8 vs 12 guns, cannons vs bombs vs rockets and insist on a modern tooling for each. Plus the FAA variants.

If their base are the ones who want a Hurricane, why make more than a couple of variants? Their catalog covers early to late war, if a stretch.

I absolutely would like to be wrong...

I'd like to see it, but with the backlog of excellent kits from them sitting on my shelf, I can wait a bit. I've still got a rag-wing to build (the Belgian option) if the mood strikes me. I can even do the Revell IIc, which is imperfect but acceptable. sooner or later they'll put it out, and we'll all promptly forget the delays.

Me too, which is why I asked.

I have the photo above and I thought tin wing, but it pays to ask.

Come on David, get building and painting!

TBH am not in any real rush either.
IIRC I have 6 Airfix rag wings and 2 AZ (?) kits
Not forgetting at least half dozen Revell kits in one variant or another

I too need to get building and painting

I think it is because I gave away my old Airfix MkIs in expectation of the new tooling so their is a Hurricane shaped hole in the stash that needs filling.
The distribution of dust gathered just doesn't look right without them!
