I like the MAC kit. Delicate detailing and finesse, although I haven't compared it against any plans to check the accuracy. I think the only other options are Airfix (old, crude) or Pegasus (seen one, not bad for the mold technology used). Cheers, Herb |

What Herb said. I think the Airfix kit is good for the wheels, that's about it. The MAC kit is great, but the trailing edges are 2x4's. (With MAC you can have thin trailing edges or good detail, but not both.) The Pegasus, as he said, is good for what it is. This is a very important Entente a/c deserving of a new, up to date kit. Boy, ain't that the truth! But wait! Let's have another Spitfire or 109 or Mustang or ... first! Because that's way more important. What, me bitter?

You beat me to it Dave!!!! Matt, if you will recall, I had a conversation with Vladimir Sulc at the '05 Nats about doing a 1/72nd Nie.17. We spoke at length, he said 1/72nd was still where his heart is at, and that, yeah, the Nie.17 needed to be done. Maybe, just maybe, the profits from Bf-One-oh-thingeys and Spits will fund molds for a great SPAD VII C.1. We can hope, right? Warren PS: I admit to jonesing for their Fokker D.VII next year. ![]() |

Until we get a new-tool what would really be nice is a new set of replacement wings. Ah, but that's dreaming again... |

Aren't they just rectangles? You've all got my attention, and if the main issue is the wings that seems the easy part (at least to myself -- well within my skills). What are the issues as I dont have references and until this thread would have just built the Airfix kit OOB and called it good. Tim |

Tim Holland I'm a "green shirt" because I work on the carrier's flight deck and maintain US Navy aircraft. Safe sorties are my life so we can be anywhere, anytime -- from the Sea. http://greenshirt-modeler.blogspot.com/ | |
