I got my circle cutter this week and tried it last night. Other than trial error, is there a technique to set the cutting diameter?

There is, probably in mm. If you have a desired diameter in mm then you can approximate the setting and fine tune with trial and error. Just had an idea. If the scale is accurate, drawing a straight line on a piece of paper the exact length as the desired diameter might work to set the cutter. Will have to give that a try.

Where did you get yours? I've been looking for one and if I ever get solvent again, I want to buy one.

I got mine here. While website says expect a two week delay, mine had shipped and arrived within a week

Instead of using paper for your guide you could use a piece of scrap plastic and mark it's length so that it could be used in the future?!?

I suspect a little trial and error will still be needed but I think if there are going to be repeated circles needed at different times some form of guide would be a good idea.

One of my current projects is an Eduard Spitfire VIII that will finished as US flown aircraft in Italy, desert camo (from the Barracudacals sheet)that features the RAF roundels painted out in Middle Stone. Circle masks the correct diameter will be needed to do that.
