I was confused at first. Guess I expected fireworks or something...

I am running Firefox, and I just loaded up the add-on. That was it. I admit, it doesn't seem to work 100% of the time, but darn close.

Go here, and if you can see pictures in this thread, the go-'round is working.

Robert,

I do not see any pictures on that link that you have provided. I'm still doing something wrong. I'm confused as to what I am supposed to upload or replace. Sorry to be a pain.

I am not a PB user but what it does for me is allow me to see images previously posted via PB. So if you had prior posts with links to an image hosted by PB, those images would once again be view-able.

Buz, follow this link.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ad...ed-fix/?src=api

The green box at the bottom of the blue area says +Add To Firefox ...

Click that and I believe you should be set. Having done it just a couple days ago, I don't recall anything more than just that.

Hope that does it for you...

Not a good picture, but just a test to see if newly loaded picture can be shared.

Bad news. I have installed Chrome and added the patch. I can now see all of the kidnapped Photo*ucket pictures again. BUT ... when I try and save them to my computer the pictures are replaced with the Photo*ucket ransom note again in the saved files.

If anyone has any luck with saving the threads please post the method. A successful technique would allow the preservation and re-posting of the work we have lost.

I had to use "Print Screen" to get the photos. You can then paste them into a photo program.

(If this window of opportunity lasts long enough, I have a chance to get some expanded storage for the computer.)

Right click on the image and select 'open link in new tab'. Once opened in Photobucket right click and 'save image as'.

If you want more than just the picture. such as discussion too, you can right click and choose print. Then from the print menu, you can select (for me it is a drop down list) the print format as PDF and save the entire page including pictures. At least for me with Windows 10 and an Epson printer installed (I think it is via Windows, regardless of installed printer) it only works for one page at a time so the process needs to be repeated if there are multiple pages.

Back before I retired and lost my access to Adobe Pro, it was possible to save entire topics regardless of page length as PDFs

Thanks Paul. I gave that a try but the image refuses to open in the new tab on my computer.

I was hopeful that the browser add on would facilitate cutting the threads and then allow them to be pasted into Word like other web content. No joy. Replacing each picture individually would be prohibitive as a general solution.

Thanks Chuck, that worked! I have now saved the first of Rolf's WiP threads as six PDF's, one for each page. Should go quickly once I get into the flow of it.

Now if you gentlemen will excuse me for a bit there's some work to be done.

If you're going to print as a pdf I'd recommend installing Cute PDF Writer - go to http://www.cutepdf.com/. This is freeware and should install as a printer. I'm using Chrome and when using right click/print, Chrome selected it as a print device without prompting. You can see what's printing as a pdf in the preview pane, including images. I would think (and stand to be corrected) that if you're looking to save best quality images, then saving as an image is your best bet.

You are probably correct Paul regarding image fidelity. Most of what I have saved from here and elsewhere have been build topics where the discussion part is as interesting, or even more so, than the images.

I will download that app too and see how it works. If Chrome will default to it when choosing 'print' it may be easier to use

Bringing this back, appears PB has fixed whatever the hotfix was getting around since I am once again getting the PB 'we blocked your image' image
