Interesting, I hadn't seen that before - I suspect both Bentley and Airfix used the same source material, the RAF Museum Bf109E. Within the realms of % size reproduction 50 years ago, both look close enough for me. i wonder if Mr Bentley has reworked his 109 plans - I know he has revisited others over the years. |

Which to choose is up to you at this point. The AZ, Hasegawa/Academy, and Revell kits have all been discussed with shortcomings pointed out. Which set of problems is least irritating to you? I agree with Barry that once I see a problem it is hard to 'unsee' it. The AZ error is correctable if it matters to you, the depth issue with Academy/Hasegawa really isn't. Not sure what you mean regarding prop blades, a 3-blade prop should have blades 120 degrees apart and the few AZ kits I have actually built had blades matching the spinner. If none of the shape issues mattered to me, I would probably choose Hasegawa or Academy just because I would expect either of those to be easier to assemble than AZ |

Actually it's more about do I really want to spend the money, I have 4 AZ G-6/14 kits and a very nice set of G-6/14 decals, the last question was more of a muse and not actually an inquiry, you are right of course though, it will always come down to what issues one is willing to settle for. As Finemolds does not appear to make a G-14 I do, at least have all the bits to make one from their G-6 if I wish to spring for one. Which propeller blades did you use? I fitted the ones with the narrow base, I guess I should've taken pics but I didn't. Maybe I'll try one out of another kit later

Sorry to butt in, but I thought one of the issues with the Tamiya E was not so much that it was too long, but that the panel lines didn't match up, or some such thing. Am I mis-remembering? Warren |

After much searching I can find no mention of panel lines, but as the fuselage is supposed to be 2.5 mm short seemingly aft of the cockpit it does seem likely that those panels would be compressed a bit. |

Probably the Modelling Madness comparison of ICM vs. Tamiya at this link: https://modelingmadness.com/review/axis/luft/mills109e.htm And this photo: ![]() Which seems to use the same drawings that Barry has in his build link... why such a discrepancy??

JC, that's probably the one I was thinking of. Thanks for that - it clearly demonstrates the question I raised. |

After seeing those pictures I need to compare the ICM fuselage with Airfix's |

I've heard ICM, but I defer to Barry on all things 109. If you put both kits built on the table I doubt 999 out of 1000 could tell the difference. |
