This was at a show in Maryland 2 years ago...not the best bit of modeling I've ever seen but pretty good and Kudos to anyone who finishes a Mach 2 kit!

Looks pretty good considering it's a Mach 2 (gesundheit!) kit.

I wish the separation between colours was a bit fuzzier and the intermediate blue may be ever so slightly too light. I think it would look better with more antennae, but knowing what the fella went thru he was probably drained of every ounce of his super-modeling, problem-fixing skill. This kit makes a Matchbox Privateer look like a Hasegawa in comparison.

I hear the Coronado is better but.....

It is. I've built it and it's not bad, as Didier's kits go. I have the Mariner, in the box. Now and again I open the box, fondle the plastic a bit, then close the box and put it back on the bottom :( of the pile.

I'm impressed by the fact you seem to be able to see through the clear parts. Nice job with a real dog.

I have the Mach 2 B-45 and He-114 and keep thinking I'll do them, but the Mach 2 reputation keeps me from starting.

You know I have the Mach 2 He 114 also and think its not too bad. I have a replacement engine for it and will vac a new canopy...add some interior goodies and replace all the struts. The rest should do just fine...have to say I have never seen one built.

I built the Do 26, and 200 hours later--I had a completed model. But it's still pretty crude. So the only other Mach 2 I've ever owned is--the PBM!

I love the big flying boats, and I've built three, but I've got to say, I'm going to have to be in a peculiar mood to take on the PBM. I've got a Rareplanes PB2Y I'd rather build--and a CMR Empire Boat--and a Do 24--and a PBY--you get the idea.

The transparencies range from barely okay to cloudier than Seattle, and the framing on them is cheesy. Most of the rest of it is okay in the box, though there are surface areas that need major work, and the interior appointments are useless. I got Rareplanes decals with the kit as a bonus from Hannants, so at least I'm ahead of the game there.

That's the main problem with my example of the Mariner; it looks like it has a bad rash in spots. Rather large spots, on the wings  I can deal with the hairline cracks that so many Mach 2 kits feature, but this problem really ticks me off. Merci beaucoup, Didier, for grossly over-using the molds and for having no quality control worthy of the name.

The only 3 I've ever had were the AJ-2, RB-57F, and the V-1 launch facility. Never started the RB-57 but the AJ-2 is one of the few kits I put away after starting never to work on again. I experienced the same rash as Harold a well as fuselages of differing lengths and wings warped beyond recognition. I still have the V-1 kit, mostly flat surfaces and lots of flash, maybe someday when the insanity hits I'll break it out.
