16 Apr 2011 in Anniston AL. Even though I have limited photography skills, I thought you might want to see the 1/72 scale aircraft there. Look here... http://ipms-rl-scott.webs.com/apps/photos/...esize=60&page=1 Cheers, |

Pretty nice! There are some goodies there. Did they have categories within the scale, like Junior, Master, or whatnot, or were all the 72nd placed together? I presume they had such categories as rigged, WWII, etc. |

Hi Robert, There were multiple categories that 1/72 aircraft could compete in.... WWI AIRCRAFT AND RIGGED AIRCRAFT, ALL SCALES SINGLE ENGINE PROP, 1/72 AND SMALLER, ALLIED SINGLE ENGINE PROP, 1/72 AND SMALLER, AXIS MULTIENGINE PROP JET AIRCRAFT, 1/72 AND SMALLER ROTARY WING AIRCRAFT, ALL SCALES SCRATCH BUILT, VACCUFORMED, CONVERSIONS, RESIN CIVILIAN AIRCRAFT, ALL SCALES DIORAMAS JUNIOR DIVISION AIRCRAFT Their entire category list can be seen here... http://www.phantomphlashers.org/2011contcat.pdf The pics I took are 1/72 scale aircraft from all the different categories, but not arranged by them. The contest was very good as usual for Anniston with over 300 entries. My only entry was my Wildcat. The judges must've been blind 'cause I took 3rd in category (SINGLE ENGINE PROP, 1/72 AND SMALLER, ALLIED) and actually won the special award for Best Marine Aircraft in the contest. As they say, "A blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while!" Cheers, |

Some fine stuff there...gotta love a show with TWO well built Arado 196's built up! Really like the Horsa, Waco, and several others. I went to this show a few years back when I lived in Georgia...had a great time and it was well run. These are good pics....thanks for sharing them! Joe |
