Hi,

Finally found time to upload my photos from Model Expo. There are quite a lot of pictures - I tried to get all the 72nd Scale Aircraft, however these are only the Competition entries. There were way more models in the many club displays.

This is the link to the complete album:

I'll post up some of my favourites in the next post.

Ray, Sorry I missed you - I was checking in on Friday night and was wearing my 72nd Scale Aircraft Badge all the days but never tracked down the ACT contingent.

Cheers

Brad built this in a week!

I have the funny feeling this is the old mold Hasegawa - Why such great workmanship was given to this kit surprises me (unless he built it a long time ago)

Brilliant work! Wish I could have been there.

I was hoping to see pics from some of the shows Down Under, the number of shows here is greatly reduced over the summer months. Thanks for posting these!

Time spent modeling is not deducted from your lifespan.

I spent most of my money on beer and women. The rest of it I just wasted.

Final miscellaneous items.

First a couple of the intermediate aircraft (This is a mixed scale class so the winners were other scales)

Final one is a quiz for members. There were 2 Ca-15's at the show - Which one is mine? :P

Thanks Michael, there are some very nice things there. What suprises me is that I have seen more of the Amodel T-50 kits built than Hasegawa B-24's (and they all looked great).

Would yours be the second one?

Hi Michael,

Sorry I missed you. We did not get in until late and registered on Saturday morning. I was wandering around with my badge on :D

I think your CA-15 is the top one since you are hiding the 3rd place sticker you got :D Congrats!

You managed to snap my Finnish Air Force DC-3 as well. Most of the other DC-3s (bar 2) in the props category were built by a friend from here in Canberra. He was manning the Hawkeye Models stand over the weekend. he also bult the T-50 Russ.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I have yet to download mine from the camera.

Hi,

Yes, a pretty good turn up by 72nd scale aircraft. I can't recall more entries at a previous Expo. The Modified category was especially well subscribed.

Ray's allusion to the DC3, C47 rollout was correct - There were so many it looked like a theme display.

He also picked the right CA-15. When I first showed up to enter my model, I was a bit shocked to see a 2nd doppelganger model. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me at an Expo (same plane, same scheme). I have no idea who built the 2nd plane - he has done somethings better (the metal finish is better than mine as is the decalling), some worse (The major issue is the dihedral - or lack of it and slightly untidier canopy framework - I can't comment much more as not being a judge, I couldn't give it the full once over).

Cheers
