I'm sure that we'll see one soon enough.  In the interim though, should not be all that difficult to back date the A-8 to an A-5.  Just need suitable decals really and there are plenty of aftermarket sets out there already to fill that requirement!

Most of the Fw 190 A-5 had the outer wing 20mm MG FF cannon resulting in rectangular like bulges under the outer wing which are different than the outer wings of the A-8 or A-6 thereafter. Inch High showed how he made resin clones of the Tamiya A-3 20 mm FF cannon bulges to make the Hasegawa A-5 into a real true A-5. Fortunately Eduard announced a 1/72 A-5 which should have the appropriate cannon bulges and perhaps inner wheel doors as seen in their 1/48 A-5. Great time for Fw 190 aficionados. Hopefully the model gods will bless us with a newly tooled 1/72 Do 217 next year?

In addition to what Frankie mentioned, the A-5 had the earlier 7.7mm cowl guns not the 13mm ones fitted in the A-7 and A-8 so the cowl gun bulges were smaller on the A-5 as well.

With all the FM 109s I have, these and Eduard's 110s and Hellcats, along with with various Spitfires including Eduard's hopefully forthcoming series, I think I could dump the rest of my stash and keep happy building these. Well I would also keep the more recent Airfix stuff such as Blenheims, Gladiators, Typhoons and Do 17s. Of course the test build of Airfix's Beaufighter and more recently the He 111P are also appealing ...
