Ja, Hasegawa does add a new weapon's set and modern plane (roughly one a year or so). It just seems with such a large product line, that they would retool and renew it. Maybe that is the Airfix affect talking in me. But with their pricing being what it is, i do not really miss them. If Academy comes out with a 1/72 Phantom series, then that is another line of Hasegawa kits i am glad to be rid of.

If Heller starts up with more new kits to retool their line, we will really be in hog heaven. With the Czech companies going crazy with releases, Airfix retooling their whole line, and some new and interesting things from China, Russia, Japan, and a few others from time to time, it is a great time for us!

I am at the point that if it is a kit that is just "okay" and/or not very "buildable" then i am considering moving it along. At the rate that i build, i need to be realistic and not sit on a bunch of (let's say) Hasegawa Tomcats (that take some work to build - though look great). By the time i get done with 1 (let alone 2) Hasegawa Tomcats, there will be a new kit from someone available...

I got a Hasegawa Fw 190F-8 from Kohona. I picked up a Hasegawa Fw 190D-9 at J&S hobbies locally here (with a resin cockpit) recently. Now that Eduard is coming out with the A-5, A-8, and F-8, and knowing i will build very few German aircraft... what to do...

Cliff,
On the Ju conversion, no. Wingnut Wings is exclusively a producer of 1/32nd limited edition WWI a/c kits. (Beautiful kits, and a good value IMHO, BUT it's not 1/72nd. ) FM armor kits are all in 1/35 AFAIK.

Sorry about my judgement about Hasegawa, I just don't keep up with modern a/c releases. They were so prolific with WWII for so many years, it was their bread and butter I assume.

I'm in the same boat, too many GOOD models, too little time left on this rock to spend it with struggling with kits with problems.

Isn't it just weird as all get out that Hasegawa hasn't produced a new 1/72nd a/c in years and years?

Can you say Osprey & Eurofighter? Not as prolific as in the past, but it's not nothing.

Add to that the E-2C/2000, Su-33 & Su-35......

Italeri is the same way, a lot of reboxes, very few new 1/72 scale kits.

You guys do realize that the Revell-Germany Fishbed is the MiG-21F Fishbed C that was released a few years ago, it's just being re-boxed. I wish that they would re-release their Hunters.

Hasegawa has also released the new tool F35A last year, so they are still producing modern aircraft.

My friend is to thank for the F106 - He has spent the last year researching and correcting/super detailing the old Hasegawa kit. He will be pleased with this announcment :P

Cheers

Michael

Yep, I'm not buying wings with prayers required anymore. Got plenty laying around if *that* mood strikes me :P

Really, the backlog of good stuff is absurd--I've got both the Blenheim I and IV now, and I can't even guess when I'm getting to them. Piles of recent Spitfire purchases, and I'll pull one out fairly soon and have a go, but there's oodles more--I've got rid of all the ones that were old or subpar, and I'm still close to two dozen. That nice Bf 110 from Eduard, three Tamiya Zeroes, two Eduard Hellcats, the Airfix C-47, and I finally scored a Fujimi Irving. On and on and on...

Oh yes we will....... he has laboured mightily with his Hase 106. Maybe the rest of the model club will all buy new ones, build them in a few weeks and turn up with them and a camera!

BTW, side note, only Puławski gull wings fighters used name with "P." like "PZL P.6", other had names just "PZL.37" without it. It was written in wrong way for many years even in Polish books.

Thanks for the tip! Mind you, I have several recent Polish books with the correct designation, without the captial 'P' before the number and yet I kept using the old, incorrect one. Interestingly, in one of these books, the author (Wojciech Mazur) never uses the 'P', even for the Puławski fighters.

As for the RWD-13, if they (IBG) ever release one, I might do a Spanish nationalist machine.
What you said about the P.6 makes sense. Besides, I think the P.7a and P.11a production versions have more 'sales appeal' than the P.6 prototype.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Wolfpack:

1/72 F-5E/F Tiger II
1/72 F-106A Delta Dart
1/72 T-38A/C
1/72 T-6A/B Texan II
1/72 F9F-8T Cougar Trainer
1/72 RF-8A/G Recon Crusader

See:

Jim

Any release date from Wolfpak on the new tool F-106 / RF-8 / F9F-8T?? This is all great news for sure!
