JASDF doesn't fly F-15A MSIP II and since this is part of Platz's JASDF series for their home market, your question answers itself. |

If it looks better than the Hasegawa kit, then I'm in for one. I'm surprised that there isn't more F-15Js kitted. They see a lot of action, you know... JASDF F-15s in action |

Review sample showed up today. WOW! This is THE 1/72 F-15 to buy. Platz also sent photoetch for it and overall it's going to be a great kit. Don't know when I'll start to build it and unfortunately I'm extremely behind on my IM reviews so it could take some time. Unless I just decide to move it to the front.

If it's anything like their T-33 this is probably going to also be the easiest F-15 to build ever. The markings are a bit plain though so I'm going to use some Hasegawa decals on mine to make one of those anniversary birds. |

For those whom don't know, Platz is the company behind 1/144 F-Toys, considered "gashapon" or collectible "models". They're mostly pre-made with some that need decals applied and/or ordnance added. They make the kits for those a little simpler than most so humans can easily "click" them together. This usually means large attachment points for most items (and sometimes, unfortunately that also means canopies). Well, Platz has taken some of that and applied it to the F-15. Very positive attachment points for the forward-fuselage-to-rear-fuselage assembly, even for adding the intakes to the main body (which, BTW, can either be modeled "up" or "down"). So yeah, this should be an easy build. But, in the same vein, there are a lot of parts. The model comes with very nicely done Sparrows and Sidewinders, along with external fuel tanks. This is going to be an excellent build. Another choice for more colorful markings are those from DXM, I know that's what I'm going to use. |

Yes that will be the big problem with this kit - which markings!?!?!?!?!? I am even considering converting to a USAF fighter?? Will do some research and make the decision when the postman drops off the kit!! |

The F-15 is no F-16, but i do like them. Good to hear there is a new option in town. |
