My two cents.. I´m a huge fan of Bf 109G and for me the AZ Bf109 models are just about perfect. Yes, the much discussed problem with nose.. There is simply nothing to improve, I claim that no-one normal person recognizes the problem when he/she sees line-up of these models on Your shelf. I am happy to have a good selection of Bf 109 models with reasonable price and I think that "attack" against AZ/KP on various places around the net is ridiculous. When it comes to P-51, there may be something common with Revell... Luckily, for me, P-51 is meaningless so I don´t have to struggle with that problem. Yes, maybe AZ/KP could/should be more open but I think everyone can watch to mirror on this case. P.S. Not my native language so I hope I expressed myself in at least somehow understandable way. |

I don't normally come into these aggressive tit-for-tat things but I'd just like to add my support to the emerging request to calm down. We are losing the usual sharing and encouraging spirit of the forum in this thread and it is degenerating into the kind of nonsense that all too frequently exemplifies Hyperscale!
I am not a Luftwaffe or Messerschmitt fan, but I agree 110%. Quite frankly, I am tired of reading the same old banal complaints about the AZ Bf-109 versus the Fine Molds Bf-109. It has become quite boorish. At the end of the day, if you don't like the AZ '109, then just don't buy it! If you have already bought one and are too disappointed with it to build it, then give it away, put it on eBay, or donate it as a prize for a competition and get over it. |

On one hand there is always something to improve, and on AZ 109s there are other things that can benefit from some refining... (as any other plastic kit) but this is what aftermarket sets are for, if someone decides go for extra detailing. But I agree with your main point... I have corrected the nose on my AZ 109 currently on the desk, and now having seen a few completed models here without this correction, I truly struggle to notice the difference. |

I'm reluctant to tell anyone what to say or not say, but if there is a case, it's where repetition becomes so…repetitive…that the annoyance puts me off from reading that person's posts at all. I as much as anyone can get bugs in my bonnet about deceitful behavior in the commercial arena, but once the message is got across a dozen times or more, that's probably enough <_< For me, both the 109 and P-51 issues have long ago got to the point where it became a matter for people to try to frame their partisan positions as fact, some with more success than others, but in no case IMO demonstrating a knock-out. The good of those threads is that discussions fully exposed all the contentions and gave us plenty to work with to reach our own decisions, but that stage is well settled for both subjects at this point, again IMO, and without anything resembling a clear-cut consensus. So much like real life

My little boxes of Joy arrived this morning, as mentioned above the set contains the extra sprue to make an early G if you want, along with three standard Gustav sprues, 2 standard canopies and 1 Erla canopy (amusingly still mis-titled as 'early' canopy on the instructions) Only one box had the separate G-1/2/3/4 instructions, good job I bought 2! (NOt rocket science otherwise, and they are on the AZ website) Other surprise was grey plastic after the previous ones were tan! |

Update! A re-examination of the sprues reveals you get TWO sets of G2 parts, on the same sprue, they are duplicated - so White Wolf, you can build two G2s. |

Great, thanks, that's good to know. I was doing my own research and it turned out that Ilmari Juutilainen's aircraft, the one I want to do, has the wing bulges which the Fine Molds G-2 doesn't have. So I'll be getting a AZ one after all. |
