Question for Petr from AZ Models; Re: P-47B

Apologies if this is not the correct area to ask this question, but since Petr from AZ lurks here:

I recall that a few years ago AZ had a P-47B listed on their "future releases" page but that it was (I think) cancelled. Is there any chance of seeing it re-emerge?

I have been going through a P-47 phase for the last several months and have become quite captivated by the brute size & shape of the "Jug", in addition to its combat record.

I'm sure I am not the only one who would like to see a P-47B in this scale.

Good question.
There were also two (IIRC) Ki-54 variants, which have similarly disappeared.

I hope the Cessnas have not disapeared also. I was really looking forward to something new in that area........ a P-47B would be a welcome addition too !

The Ki 54s and the Cessnas would be most welcome. I might even go for a P-47B.

While I agree with all the above (esp. the P-47B and Ki-54), I am wondering about the status of their CR.32 project...

What is wrong with the 32s on the market?

The only (injected) CR 32 available in our scale is the ages' old Supermodel kit: it is probably older than many of the members of our forum. Albeit reasonably accurate for such an old model, it suffers from very crude details and/or their lack thereof, not to mention (speaking from experience) the nightmarish fit and alignment of the wing struts.
A small Italian firm also did a nice resin CR 32 back in the 90s, but it was quite expensive and hard to find outside Italy.

Dear friends,
I have a little time to answer you.
Yes P-47 has long been in the preparation.
These are the P-47B, P-47C and P-47D-1,2,5 . Now small parts redesign in 3D modeling for CAD-CAM.Model large parts will be in HQT metallic form. The term is still unknown. Decals, cammo and canopies have been made.
A good model needs to calm preparation.
It is the same CR-32. It is being prepared in 3D technology.

Cessna C-150 and C-180/185 are prepared for short run production of molds.
They will be very soon.

Ki-54 are in agreement with MPM production ceded to produce at their firm.
Our Ki-54 is canceled.

Thanks Petr. That is a very informative response that is gratefully received.

Any chance you can give us a sneak peek at the P-47 markings?

Peter,

Please do a an early P-47D4/5 boxing for the 348th Fighter Group (Kearby's Thunderbolts). Some nice markings possibilities. Also, PLEASE include a "Brisbane" tank as made by the Fifth Fighter Command repair depot in Brisbane, Australia. The Brisbane tank has never been offered in any scale for a P-47 kit to my knowledge.

Please see the links here for details.
