You know, as I think on it, I've seen maybe 2 Hellcats ever at contests in 1/72--even now, with those Eduard kits out for a couple of years. What's with that? I've got one barely started, and it looks like once I get rolling, it's going to go real fast. But people don't build them, at least for show, at least around here.

I no longer have a hosting site that works so can't post the picture, but ... There is a closeup floating around the web of the oblique camera port on the FAA Museum Hellcat. In 1/72, the reinforcement sheet would be too thin to represent since it is just a piece of sheet metal. I presume that is what the polygon resin on the Owl offering is supposed to represent. The camera port itself appears flush and there is bumper strip (as represented on the Owl piece) to divert fluids away from the port. One of the modelling mags also had a build article a couple of years ago for a FAA FR Hellcat.
