Hey everyone,

Many of you have seen this before, but here are some mediocre photos i took a while back of my F6F-5N. It reaslly needs to be re-photographed, but i wanted to throw something up to populate this part of the website, and perhaps encourage others to do likewise. It was intended for an extensive article on the F6F planned for Aerospace Modeller Magazine, but unfortunately that venture folded.

This is just a sampling of pictures to keep the length reasonable. I photographed the heck out of this thing during construction. I will say that just about every part of this model was reworked in one way or another.

Respectfully submitted for your review and consideration,

david

That's absolutely gorgeous David!

You had sent me some in-progress pics last year together with some of real aircraft, answering some questions I had made on either HS or ARC, but I had not seen the finished result. I'm so glad I can now!

Excellent work in every respect. Congratulations!

Jorge.

Looks awesome great finish on the paint. I really like the insulators on your wire and the way the formation and nav lights look.

Thanks for the kind words. Its actually a cool looking model when viewed up close, but it's failed to do much on the contest circuit. Also, its hard to photograph. In a room with poor lighting it looks more like a P-61 than an F6F. But I'm happy with it.

Not sure when or if i will build another Hasegawa F6F. Its a good kit, but the upcoming Eduard Hellcat is probably gonna set the standard....if and when they release it.

And yeah- everybody groks the antennas and the nav lights, hence my little puff piece on the Elf Lenses.

Thanks Bill. It might look better if re-photographed.

In any event, i just hosed some flat white on another Tamiya Corsair. Will attempt the intermediate blue tomorrow.
