I have used Hu 90 ona 1940 Hurricane, very happy with result, now building a same era Spitfire, thought for change i would use Hu23, duck egg blue . Never having used this particular paint before on opening the tin, it seemed remarkably similar to Hu90, with not if any tinge of blue?.. is this normal of Hu 23?

open to the members here.

Cheers.

Hu 23 normally has a fairly distinct blueish-grey look to it, but it is very similar to Hu 90 when comparing chips side by side. You might find it looks different once brushed out.

I'd agree that Humbrol Duck Egg Blue has a slight greyish cast to it when compared with Hu90, which has a more green cast to it. I've used Duck Egg Blue on my current RAF Tomahawk builds to vary the shade from that on my Spitfires/Hurricanes to represent the more greyish US 'equivalent' shade (although I've also used it on a couple of Spits & Hurris - along with more bluish shades - to represent the BoB colour variations that occurred). I also find that the old Duck Egg Blue 'Authentic' paint covers better than Hu.90.
