I am using Adobe illustrator to make invasion stripe decals. One of my IPMS members gave me an old ALPS printer which i am having repaired. I want to make sure that when this is ready to print, the white actually prints, how to do I tweak the settings on illustrator to allow that? |

Not sure of exactly how to do it in illustrator, but what you need to do is use a different color for the white areas, then tell the printer that the color you used should be printed with white. But I've always found it to be less work/hassle/trouble, and the end result better-looking, to paint the invasion stripes instead of trying to fight with getting a decal to cover the surfaces neatly, completely, and without wrinkling or having overlap that shows through as different color density. |
