Does anyone happen to know a source for the long gone Aeroclub #P081 props for the Douglas Skyraider? Or maybe a fellow builder here on the forum has some for sale? I need 6 of them. A scan around the web has plenty of references form lots of out of date webpages, but I can't locate a store that actually has any sitting around collecting dust!

Stimpy, you might want to e-mail Roll Models. I had read somewhere that they bought up a lot of what remained of John's stock; hearsay, of course.
However, they list the prop you want and a lot of other stuff.
Perhaps worth a few minutes' time to ask.

Since John is still in business, I rather doubt that.

You could try e-mailing him on sales[AT]aeroclub-models.com though he has been ill recently and is now a one-man band so you may have to wait a while for a reply.

Thanks for his email, I actually thought the company had died off due to the owners demise.

No, it was his business partner and long-time right-hand man who died suddenly.

PS Don't hold your breath: I'm still waiting for a reply to an e-mail I sent earlier in the week. I might send him a PM via Britmodeller, where he has been active this week.

John emailed me back today (so that was within 24 hours). Unfortunately, even though he does have stock I was told that these were not supposed to be listed as Skyraider props. The Skyraider prop is 13', while these parts are actually 12' 6" and represent an Aeroproducts type airscrew.

That means the Aeroclub parts are a 2.1 mm shorter than the kt part which I think will be very noticeable, hence will replace one inaccuracy for another.

The question now is what aftermarket prop is a 13' sleeveless type with a very similar profile?

Do they have to be Aeroclub props? I purchased some 1/72 scale resin Skyraider props made by Pylon 1 and they are pretty good. They have a little flash to clean up but are otherwise as good as any other resin aftermarket products.

I purchased mine on eBay (the seller ID was "jeorgiegirl8") about 12 months ago but they could be available elsewhere if you do some Net trawling.

EDIT: Here they are: http://www.ebay.com/itm/A-1-Sky-Raider-Bla...=item4a9a0ce2be
