Here'e the start of my Revell P.T.-109 motor torpedo boat OR
a 1/72 Hasegawa 37mm cannon with the wheels removed
mounted on a P T Boat fore deck. That sounds better, a ground
craft mounted on a boat! I am going to scratch build depth charges,
use the Hasegawa Jeep with 37MM cannon for the cannon only
and hopefully detail as correct as it was known to be on it's final mission.
So far I have assembled the hull and deck, cut the foot rails where the
depth charges go, removed the mounts of the fore deck for the balsa
float, painted the stand and masked and painted the lower hull dull

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one. Lots of PT parts here: http://www.shapeways.com/search?q=1%2F72+pt+boat&type=

Thats looking good. I have always had a soft spot for the 109 as well as other Elcos. That 37 By Hasegawa is not a 37. It is a 6 pounder 57mm. Don't know how accurate you want to be but if you want a proper 37 Look at S-Model or Fujimi. Fujimi's can be found at shows in the old Nitto boxing. S-Models is a little jewel. Nitto /Fujimi is clunky but with some massaging will build into a nice kit.

As an aside UniModel, UM, Or Universal Model Does a proper 20mm for the aft position. Comprised of PE and Injection parts. Check Hobbyterra. Keep up the good work. Timmay!

I just got back to this. Most of my wing things are out of the way. I just took off
the masks. I spray painted the upper hull and deck structures my version of "tropical
green". I used Model Master 1910 spray, FS34079.---John

Maybe we could do one with a catapult and a Kingfisher!

Looks good John!

I just restarted on this after finishing up a few F-4 Phantoms.
I found a site that has dimensions and pictures of the type 6
depth charge. The depth charge in 72nd scale is roughly 1/4 inch
in diameter by 3/8 inch long. I found a piece of sprue roughly that
diameter and have also scratch built the 2 racks from card stock.---John
