These two are the oldest models in my collection, made in the fall of 1975. The display represents the aircraft that my Dad flew in during WWII as radio operator on ferry flights from South America to Africa, and the aircraft I flew in during the Vietnam conflict as combat cameraman (still). It's sort of a space/time continuum in 1/72 scale. The old Frog Baltimore (Dad knew it as the "A-30") has been modified with Airfix C-47 cowls with intakes made from sheet styrene and a home-made vacuum-formed ferry tank added to the belly. The OV-10A Bronco is the old Revell kit. I vacuum-formed the canopy and cut it open.

The two figures represent my Dad and I when we were about 24 years of age. The time warp is roughly 30 years. I made them from a couple of the Preiser Luftwaffe figures modified slightly. I had added a tiny camera and strap to my figure, but that has disappeared over the decades. This diorama has a clear plexi cover to keep it dust free. I gave this to my Dad Christmas of 1975. He passed in 1984, and when my Mom passed in 2004, the diorama passed back to me. This has appeared recently in FSM.

A fine execution of a great idea Paul. You have shown so many great models in the past few days that it's hard to keep up. Don't let a lack of replies slow down your publishing here; I and many others appreciate every one of them. I am so pleased that you have joined our merry band to display some of your modelling and photographic talent.

Must have been a sentimental journey too.
Great collection you have built since then.

Cheers
