"I'd rather betray the world than let the world betray me." Cao Cao "The world can do without Cao Hong, but not without you, my lord!" Cao Hong "What are you waiting for? If I, a leader of rank, can risk my life, cannot you?" Gan Ning "But do not grieve; so long as I live, I will not allow Wei to come and conquer Shu." Jiang Wei "If you will not, O Master, what will become of the people?" Liu Bei "The northern people are riders and the southern people sailors; it is said quite true." Liu Bei "Do no evilness because it is a small one; do not leave a small deed undone because it is just a petty one." Liu Bei "You see everything from the point of view of brute courage. You seem not to know the principles of war laid down by Sun Zi and Wu Qi. This display is only meant to entice us into fight. You will see the pretense yourselves in about three days." Lu Xun "If you could find either Hidden Dragon or Blooming Phoenix, you could restore order in the empire." Sima Hui "There are five possible operations for any army. If you can fight, fight; if you cannot fight, defend; if you cannot defend, flee; if you cannot flee, surrender; if you cannot surrender, die. " Sima Yi "Your words, O Wise One, are as gold and precious stones, but I fear that my soldiers will not carry out my commands unless I myself share their dangers." Sun Ce "Cao Cao may have his Zhang Liao, but I can match him with my friend Gan Ning." Sun Quan "When a worthy person is born into a turbulent world, he has to be a soldier and gird on a three-span sword to step on the mountains to mend the sky. I have not rendered great service. Why must I die before I have attained my desire?" Taishi Ci "Essence of my father, blood of my mother, i cannot throw this away," and he proceeds to swallow his own eye. Xiahou Dun "It is said that the lord's honour is the servant's glory, the lord's sadness is the servant's shame. How can I turn my back on the family I have so long served." Xin Ping "If I had a son like Sun Ce, I should die without regret." Yuan Shu "Those who are skilled in combat do not become angered, those who are skilled at winning do not become afraid. Thus the wise win before they fight, while the ignorant fight to win." Zhuge Liang "Do the unexpected, attack the unprepared." Zhuge Liang "When a man is in the world, O, He ought to do his best. And when he's done his best, O. He ought to have his rest. And when I have my rest, O, I'll quaff my wine with zest. And when I'm drunk as drunk can be, O, I'll sing the madman's litany." Zhou Yu "O God, since thou made Zhou Yu, why did thou also create Zhuge Liang?" Zhou Yu "The noble person who has eaten of his lord's bounty should die in his lord's battles; to return to one's home dead and wrapped in a horse's hide is a happy fate. Am I the sort of people to bring to nought the grand designs of my country?" Zhou Yu "He who wins people, prospers; he who loses them, fails. Your present plan should be to seek humans of high aims and farseeing views, and you can establish yourself firmly." Zhou Yu some of these i dont get 100% but i posted em anyway cause someone might get them. Things I know of these famous ppls Cao Cao (T'ao T'sao) Ruler of the Wei empire, a brilliant tactician, but he was prone to turning on allies, such as Liu Bei Cao Hong- Uh...he was Cao Cao's cousin or brother or something. he didn't do too much memorable stuff by history's reckoning Gan Ning- Was a pirate, he served Liu Biao, Huang Zu, and later Sun Quan. He defeced from Hunag Zu with help from Su Fei, his friend. Jiang Wei- A Shu strategist. He succeeded Zhuge Liang as the Prime Minister Liu Bei- First Emperor of Shu-Han, more commonly called Shu. He was the Sworn Brother of Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, and was related to Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty. Lu Xun- A Wu strategist. I actually know little about him, but he did come up with the plan to burn the Shu camp at Yi Ling, devastating the army and bringing victory to Wu Sima Hui- I think he was a hermit Sima Yi- Cao Cao's main strategist, besides Gua Jia. He lead the Wei army at Wu Zhang to defeat the Shu armies that were positioned there, and was victorious. This was the key to the victory against Shu, and eventually the Wei Armies conquered Cheng Du, the Shu capital. Sun Ce- First son of the Tiger of Jiang Dong, Sun Jian. He inheritted the kingdom after his father was killed by Liu Biao's officer Lu Gong. Taishi Ci- A Wu general. He served Gongsun Du, Kong Rong, and Liu Yao. When Liu Yao was defeated, he joined Sun Ce. He was killed by the Wei officer Zhang Liao at the Battle of He Fei. Xiahou Dun- A Wei officer and Cao Cao's cousin. During a battle against Yuan Shao, his eye was shot by an arrow. He took it out and, instead of throwing it away, ate it. Zhuge Liang - Shu Prime Minister. He was a hermit until Liu Bei visited him three times. After listening to Liu Bei, he consented to join him, and served loyally. He died of illness at the Battle of Wu Zhang Plains. Zhou Yu- The Wu strategist. He helped come up with the strategy at the epic Battle of Chi Bi. He worked together with Shu strategists Pang Tong and Zhuge Liang. Pang Tong faked defection to chain Wei's ships together. Zhou Yu let a Wei spy witness him punish the officer Huang Gai, who took a ship and went towards the Wei fleet, feigning defection. Zhuge Liang summoned the Southeastern Winds, even though the wind only blew from the Northwest at that time of year. Huang Gai's ship hit the Wei fleet, and his crew set fire to the Wei fleet. The winds fed the flames, and the chained ships helped the fire spread. That's probably his most well-known battle. I put this up cause I saw a thread about China here, read it, and thought that some people might think these interesting, like I do. Probably one of the few sections of history I like. |

How can anyone forget Jin Yong's The Return of the Condor Heroes? He is one of the most feching amazing chinese novelist ever. My bro has read/bought all his works and each series of novels has been read at least twice, including all the "improved" versions of his stories. i wonder if Jin Yong's books come in english hmmmm |

that sucks. dont worry i get used to the dissing. you cant go a whole day in my school without someone calling you gay. usually because you put the charm on the girl that person liked. the only gays in my school are the emos, who are gay. you can tell cause they wear tight pants and when a hot girl walks up, there is no action going on down there, from what my friend says. i prefer NOT looking down there. then the "hot" jocks walk by and they get a bulge. freakin emo faggots..(not talking to any here)EMOS, EMO MUSIC, AND SCREAMO SUCK! |
