Hmm I think McCain makes a very big chance but I guess Obama will win with a small majority(altough you dont need a majority in the USA :S). But I will hear the result tomorrow morning  And Obama made alot sympathy with a dead grandmother(I smells consperacies accusions from the Republican side) And happy birthday to your dad, what age does he has now? |

Oh yes. These local guys supported the bailout despite most people not supporting it, I hope they get run out of office. I don't like current John McCain, but I dislike Barack Obama much, much more. Obama is against almost everything I stand for. Laughable tax plans, economic socialism, absolute federal supremacy, social liberalism, lack of dominant foreign policy. Yeah, as a libertarian that's pretty much the antithesis of what I want in office. |

Yes the Kenian eco is booming and if they don't like the elections they kill eachother  A mix of both is good, free economy but with a social security system, only Americans mostly call that communism... |

worst part is that HK is pegged to the US dollar. we havn't felt that the economy is crumbling, there are still tons of people shopping and eating outside and stuff. but the stock market is fluctuating so badly. but then England isn't doing very good either D: and HK also has lots of foreign investors so yeah :| |

Actually most Americans don't. Social security should be abolished because it just can't be sustained in the long term unless we significantly increase taxes. Just privatize it. Give people financial liberty and don't let businesses lend out more money than they possess. Reform welfare as well--there's too many people who leech off of it without contributing to the economy. Welfare for the injured and disabled, sure. Otherwise? No way. |

Why would it don't work? It works perfectly in Scandinavia and The Netherlands. But I think the goverment has to let the economy do it's own bussiness but they still have to protect the civilians. And if they dont think social security is communism why do they call Obama a communist than? He only wants health ensurances. |

But keep in mind that Scandinavia and the Netherlands are not very much like the U.S. I actually respect what you guys over in some of Europe have been able to do with those policies--but you have a more homogenous populace that is less used to disparity in wealth that the United States is. We have too many competing classes, as well as ethnic and racial groups that simply cannot agree on matters like that. I've said it before--socialism and other similar systems work GREAT so long as the population is not excessively greedy and they are geared more toward living a communal lifestyle. That's you guys. The Dutch and Scandinavians are historically and socially more adherent to that. Meanwhile the United States isn't so lucky. We have a huge problem with the various goals that highly different people have, but we are well beyond the point of no return in that aspect. Free-market capitalism is what works here because we are an inherently greedy and corrupt people. We love money, and we love to do with it what we want, without interference. I mean, we went to war with Britain and rebelled because we didn't want to pay taxes, and that was when this country was in its infant "virtuous" period. What now? We're imperialistic, powerful and independent. The last thing most Americans want is to have part of their livelihood taken from them and given to someone else. In some parts of Europe, the system is cracking. Take France for instance, where immigrants have been causing riots and absorbing welfare money. That money was not intended for those purposes, and is being pumped out to people who do not contribute to their economy. And with economic recession straddling both the U.S. and E.U., that's not going to help the economic situation at all. This is actually what is going to propel Europe from its current situation and make it more aggressive. Remember the Weimar Republic? |

And that's why welfare reform is needed. The people that are just physically unable to help themselves are not at fault. They are the people that welfare should go to. But lazy bastards that sit around in tenements and have ten or so lazy kids, all refusing to work? No. If they die from hunger, that is unfortunately the way life works out. I work for a living. I shouldn't have to have my money forcibly taken from me to pay for the likes of them. hey, if most people here used the system correctly then it wouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't mind welfare. But it needs to be reformed significantly. (And yes, I misspelled Weimar. Got so caught up in my speech I made that rather careless error. :P) |

Tbh redemption I agree our system is too socialist. We pay too much money to the "poor". Poor meaning people who dont work and exploit the socialist system to get money and just live of that. There's an entire category of population like that, tbh we should really get rid of them. Annnnnnnnnnnd, McCain not be a madman, but when he dies, Palin is one whore that will fuck the world. |
