Then it is you who is the nub, and who's socks need a washing. Not because they're dirty I'd presume.

sorry to break up this friendly discussion, but you are all wrong (except for Jam, who truly is harnessing power from a nuclear holocaust) What you are experiencing is the energy inside of the nuclues. In a nucleus of say, uranium, there are 92 protons. Now think, protons are all positively charged, yet they are all so close together in the atom, so what keeps them together??? ENERGY, there is actually energy keeping a nucleus together, and when an atom is split, it requires less energy to hold the nucleus together, and the excess energy is given off as just energy, its called nuclear fission
Why is light deviated by gravity? Because it has a mass. If it has a mass, then there must be some ultra small particle (OP word, thanks marlo) that we haven't found yet. Hence energy has mass, and is made up of that very small particle.

But no, if I take off my socks, then my feet would be cold ):
Forgive me, my knowledge is slightly higher than that of a grade 8 science student.

Then maybe that's Dark Energy, and it's probably what we're trying to find through the atom smasher.
I was thinking; would it be possible to slow down light by making it pass through a place with way-below-freezing temperatures?

It may be possible... or not.

yeah, light actually never reaches the speed of light unless in a vacuum, other particles slow it down, thats similar to why electricity will only travel around 0.7 times the speed of light in most wires. We (meaning human beings) have managed to make light stop, and in fact, researchrs have managed to make light go backwards, FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF LIGHT!!! ZOMG

you would have to say "in the past tense, I used technically referring to..."
That's the past continuous I think hmmmm
hahaha grammar ; )
