I know there are alot of good players in here and I'm playing my brother's friend who is sponsored to play these kind of games today. My brother told me he plays as ottomans and sometimes british. I need ways to tackle this, ottomans are my weakness and he only plays AOE3 so no japan for me haha. I'm thinking of going french because calv is good against british lb and skirms are good against musks and jans. But tell me some suggestions, I think germans would be good but I'm not good with them. |

I used to play ottomans/British as my main civs too! Countering British is fairly easy; it's hard to rush with them, so what you want to do is derive them of wood and foil their inevitable boom. How? Raid raid raid! Raid with units better than pikemen and strong against longbows. As for the Ottomans, it depends on what the enemy is doing; their rush is being less effective constantly, so more skilled ottoman players would go for the FF. Raid the ottomans, same as with the British, and make sure you do it with hussars. The Ottomans possess no effective counter to hussars in the 2nd - 3rd age, and its absolutely crippling for an Ottoman player to loose his hunters. |

do not dual rax otto, GS is a fucking noob, seriously dual rax xbow spam hard and send 3 hussar for abus (but make sure hes def going abus by scouting) use 3 hussar carefully |

if he's going abus you'll have to build a stable, but 3 huss is a nice shipment to feed your army in the short run. |

SCRATCH THAT Ok since my brother is over there now, he is texting me info on what his friend is doing so he just told me that 1. He is secretley going french 2. he got his strat from top 5 player in world 3. and he will have two canons in seven minutes 4. he will own my skirms p.s. it will be best 2 out of 3 wtf do I do now! I'm going to get my ass kicked XD edit: sounds like he's going FF so should I raid him? and whats 2nd option? |

yeah he's FFing with otto? go spain and FF too, that's an easy win with france you could FF, but an easy win may be dual rax musk, not much otto can do about mass musk in fort, a few cannons shouldn't stop you just get in his base asap and kill his houses first |

french naked ff? hmmm, if hes any good he will use his cdb to kill attacking inf. Imo u should ff with something like spain OR mass pikes and hope you can suprise him on the right moment (kill his houses so he can't ship anything). Not much of a 1v1 player.... |

IMO, u stand a good chance with that: rods shipments and such. But do not forget that u have to destroy the houses, not the tc right away. |

i don't think he's that good if the main thing he says about his strat is that he'll have 2 cannons at 7 mins... cs that isn't impressive at all, considering you'll have 20 units in his base by then if you rush you can also just go otto jan rush, easy win |

yeah but you have to consider the fact that I'm not that expierenced yet so I don't know many of these strats. also super, I always attack first : military buildings, then houses, then tc because that does the most damage even if your army gets depleted. |

fuck I'm such a dumb fuck, I lost at the end of game by 15 minutes he had : 18 skirms 2 vet cuirassier 8 pike 2 canon 2 musk thats what he had left after my last stand. What went wrong is that at 5 minutes I had 10 men, and had about 18 before he started making men. He starts making units at third age, which I didn't notice he aged to, so he attacked me with the 2 canons and a minor size army, and he won with about 7 skirms left and I chased him away with minute men and fresh xbows. But by then my eco went downhill and he just made more canons and some pikes to protect them from my calv and skirms to kill my xbow. I played as spanish btw. Another mistake was that at lobby he checked my deck out and noticed the pike cards so he countered. It was a disgrace but oh well he was 2nd lt. and I'm a lance corp. His name is drewsk1 btw if any of you might have played him, which you should he's really good. |

just go otto rush he won't stand a chance 2nd luit so he won't know how to effectively counter rushes while FFing. jan rush is the easiest strat ever so you should be able to do it. |

lol and no after the first game I realized he was simply more expierenced than me so I scratched the other 2 games. Also, if I switched to otto, I'm sure he would switch to a different civ. Don't underestimate him for his rank, that's what most master srgt. do to me and I always beat them. He is really good. |

:P I've tried a few times getting my PR up further without beating sergeants or master sergeants under me, but I could never find any good games. Either my HC level was too high, my PR was too low/high, the map was something shitty like Caribbean or Amazonia, or it was a treaty game :/ Seriously people need to learn how to play no-rules pure-skill. |
