If something is fine for most people, but should be banned because of an extreme minority, does this apply to knives, drugs, alcohol, violent video games, and so on? Gun rights don't exist so people can kill cops. They're mostly used for self-defense (cops can't be everywhere all the time, and the courts have repeatedly ruled it's not the government's/police's obligation to protect individuals) and hunting. I would not want the government to have an advantage over the general population at all. If you want that, feel free to take a look at Libya and Syria to see how it's working out. Government should be afraid of the people, not the other way around.

So, as the saying goes, if you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns. Do you want me to post dozens of stories about how legal gun owners saved their and their loved ones' lives with guns while the police was nowhere to be found? Irrational fear-mongering, GS. That's the only argument against gun rights.
