:D:D they are OP. just cause you guys don't understand the lyrics (well, not saying i have the correct interpretation) doesn't make the song wrong. I like all kinds of music and rammstein is just apart of them.

Btw, mettalica wannabes pfff? how are they mettalica wannabes? just cause they make hard music doesn't mean they are mettalica wannabes. You just see mettalica as "the best" of the hardrock genre and then make all others mettalica wannabes.....

I understand what they sing but it can still be noisy...and...I got teachers who listen to Rammstein...

It's sort of thrash like metallica, but metallica was only really thrash with cliff, half of their songs are either heavy rock, or rock. I'm guessing diane likes the later songs that metallica did (like sad but true) more than the older ones, girls tend to not like Cliff's awesome low bassing.

Diane you should try megadeth too, youtube "trust - megadeth"

Yes thats what I'm saying.  There is no such thing as a true moral, thats what ethics are about.

Well of course nature can't change ethics, its an idea, it doesn't exist.

Ideas exist.

But you didn't answer my question, what was difference between what you said and what I did? Also, if you do not believe in objective morals, what holds together order in society to you. Personaly I see no reason to follow anyone elses subjective moral views, they shouldn't push there views on to me right? ;)

"But you didn't answer my question, what was difference between what you said and what I did?"

What are you talking about?

"Also, if you do not believe in objective morals, what holds together order in society to you. Personaly I see no reason to follow anyone elses subjective moral views, they shouldn't push there views on to me right? ;)"

On the majority we have the same basic morals because we all have roughly the same emotional responses to the same stimuli, not counting disorders. Humans are also 'pack animals', we have a built in desire to stick together and get along with members of our 'pack'.

Of course our morals aren't all the same, not everyone agrees with all the laws and there is rebellion in society ie: Burma, Pakistan, Tiananmen Square, etc... Which only happen in extreme cases of moral conflict, people would rather sit in their comfy homes than revolt over minor issues or even major ones. Society doesn't fall apart over conflicts, it just changes.

I've thought about it, and ultimately this is where you go wrong. You assume man will keep going, haha evolution and this dark universe of ours favors our human race no more than the wooly mammoths. There is a great truth that it takes more faith to be a blindly hopefull atheist than a Christian. You maight no think of yourself as an optimist Jam, but if what you've said thus far you certainly are a general of their numbers.

What is? My morals? No it's not a crutch, how would it be a crutch?

It would be an emotional crutch, because without it you fall to crude emotion primal instincts, can you not rise above that as a modern man? It is funny, man thinks himself to have come so far, but even today man is easy prey to his emotion, war will continue, are you so weak that you cannot pull yourself above this, must you rely on the crutch of crude emotions to give yourself purpose?

You poor thing, your emotions are your most valuable asset. It's true that we must use emotions to help shape our morals, but emotions aren't what make morals. Morals are what made us different than other animals who rely only on emotion and instinct. We use logical reasoning to make morals. Emotions are some of the data, if you will, we take into consideration when making these morals.

If anything, you are beginning to sound much more nihilistic than any atheist I have met.

The odds of society disappearing are very low unless humans go extinct. We, as a species that constantly sees patterns and order in our surroundings, will always strive for it. In other animals, this comes in the form of packs. Humans took the pack one step further and made it society. I don't care if it's 20 people, it's still a society. Jam's not being optimistic, he's being realistic. You either left out key variables, or you misunderstood what he said.

Are you going to keep putting words in my mouth?

Did I imply man will last forever? No? Then shut up.

Did what I said even have anything to do with atheism? No? Then shut up.

If you think I'm being optimistic then give me one example where a conflict brought about the end of society, oh wait we're still here so you can't. With the exception of maybe large scale nuclear war, human conflict will not destroy society. So tell me how that is 'blindly hopeful' when hundreds of thousands of years proves it correct.
