I collect that much of the examiners' intention was to assess your capability to take an initiative based on what you knew; exams would be a breeze if you were reciting purely from memory, and I believe the whole concept is to apply your knowledge into something like practice.
Reciting from memory is the exam. At least for Biology it is because you can't create scenarios like chemistry or physics can. Applying our knowledge is assessed in practical exams. My Grade shouldn't be determined by one minute part of the syllabus, They failed to test the complete syllabus which is 150 pages of work to learn, recite and apply. In the exam they used at max 5-6 pages, 4-5 of those being ecology (Which is 30 or so pages total) A complete waste of my time, especially when they've decided many peoples grades on whether they knew information that was a minor part of the course at best. You probably haven't experienced this, and hopefully you never will. studying for biology exam is known to be a waste of time. i remember everyone who did study in our class complaining about it, that it wasn't so much a test of konwledge as it was a test of common sense. i got 7 out of 10 without ever going to biology class the last half of the year, and not even opening the book the entire year. i guess it's because if they let it come down to knowledge, it's not whoever knows most but whoever got most lucky about what they remembered, since it's impossible to include the entire book(s).

It's really just a matter of exams assessing your ability to do the exam.

I think unicorns have a higher chance of existing than gods do. I mean, if a mare fell into the ocean and a narwhal raped it, then the mare might just give birth to a unicorn.
