In sleep, in confusion, in the depths of shame,

But damn Goodsbee, that sucks :(
Just make sure your nephew knows that he's loved, that always works for me.

well once i read up on some "cancer nanobombs" on the NewScientist website. apparently they have these new carbon tubes that are filled with water, inserted into the tumour and heated up until they explode and kill the tumour cells around it. Remainder malignant cells then can be destroyed with chemo. It's all pretty new but it's less damaging than a full chemo.
though this was more than a year ago and I skimmed through it last minute for my mock interview at school because i said i read NewScientist in my personal statement.

so don't lose hope!! we are armed with lots of treatment now and he'll get better (Y)

I have never been sedated and the last time I was at a hospital for myself was when I was born. Never broken nothing, never had some weird sickness. No nothing.

thank u guys...
as i understand it now, they are still working at figuring out exactly what kind of cancer it is from the biopsy before moving into treatment. He is out of ICU and is in his own room now :) They said that because of the area (in the center of the brain) that the cancer is in..it would be very dangerous to operate because of all the blood vessels so they (depending on the type of cancer) are wanting to treat with chemo and if it's successful they may not have to go in surgically again. His eyes are still a little crossed (due to where the tumor is pressing on his brain) so he's getting a patch on one eye so he can focus for the time being but he's becoming more alert AND things are improving (he's hungry and thirsty and they have the tubes in to drain). They are having a counselor come in to visit with him tomorrow to make sure he's taking everything alright and that he understands that he is getting the best care possible.
I'm going to visit over the weekend (they live 3.5 hours away)....stay with my folks and help out with the other kids. I need to think of something special to bring with me for him...something that he'll enjoy looking at or if he's up to it playing with, if you guys have any ideas let me know. :)

germ, is that something that was done with a brain tumor?

Imagine what it's like to be in a coma.

One minute your 17 with your life ahead of you the next you wake up and your a 35 year old with most of your good years gone. :zz:

I think unicorns have a higher chance of existing than gods do. I mean, if a mare fell into the ocean and a narwhal raped it, then the mare might just give birth to a unicorn.

I doubt it.

Glad to know he is ok for the time being and I hope he will continue to get better :)

Yeah, it's nice to hear that he's getting a little better. Part of fighting a disease like cancer isn't just the body itself, but the well-being of the mind. So long as he's got some steady improvement, that'll make him feel a lot better in the long run too.

And balloons won't make him flip out?

The worst thing which could happen with fruit bowl is that he starts noticing how a banana is shaped similarly to a penis in the right position...

you can either:

A. get him a stuffed animal

or

B. get him a shitload of balloons, his favorite food (since he's hungry), one of those animal shaped balloons, a hot stripper to give him a lap dance
