CHEERIO!

I watched this documentary (it's French) some time ago, and I found it to be a very good watch, the images are stunning, and the message is both important and real. While it may seem pessimistic, it does get a bit brighter in the end, so take some time to watch it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqxENMKaeCU Very beautiful. And you can stream this bad boy HD, fullscreen. :) Edited by Incog, Aug 17 2009, 06:27 PM.

it seems like a really good movie (just saw fragments). We are still young, the new generation :D. Soon we will have the choice between global destruction or huge investments. God i wonder how many will pick global destruction |

Huge investments won't be that huge. ^^ I mean, if everyone just had nuclear plants and every land vehicle would be powered by electricity the world would be that much better. Sure that's expensive but it's probably more economic in the long run. I mean, if you can make a play capable of flying faster than the speed of sound for more than 2 hours, you can make a electric car with performance as good as any thermal powered car. It's 95% vs 25% efficiency. ![]() The Gov's are all going for gas though, because of all the money they make off of oil. |

incog nuclear power is very wasteful and shit, I dont want fuckin radioactive dump in lakes and shit lol thermal energy is the best, most abundant, and most efficient energy. |

France knows how to deal with radioactive waste anyway, we don't just dump it into lakes lol. My comp is currently powered by a nuclear power plant. ;/ Nuclear power is the best solution until a solar power is available. We get more energy from the sun in one day than all humans use in a year (I think, this may be wrong, but the statistic was something like that). |

they bury it in a special bunker below sea level if i remember correctly. They figured it would go away on its own i guess.. which is sorta true |

in millions of years lol, it would cost to bury it when you can have waste free energy, and solar power is slowly improving, by 2035 america will have very efficient solar energy and might switch. |

it costs more to make a thermal plant than to just bury some shit in some bunker.. digging and pouring cement isn't hard at all, in fact in the past month I dug the foundations for our house's extension all by my little self.. ;/ |

yeah but you have to keep making bunkers and what if one of them busts open, thermal is cheaper in the long run |

You young people are the exact same as every other generation of people that's ever existed. You'll be idealists when things look bleak, then you'll become bored, and indifferent, and possibly even a bit complacent, once you get older. |

pff, I won't, idk about you guys but I'm not goin to put my life to waste, I'll make sure I'm remembered, and have my own statue as an addition to the white house instead of a basketball court -.- also incog, the idea is to have 0% waste, not just no atmosphere pollution, but none at all, humans can live without impacting the earth, so why not do it? Won't happen. No matter what you do. But since we're discussing the best solution at hand before solar energy, it's quite clear that it's best to use our knowledge of nuclear stuff for the generation of energy instead of weapons of mass destruction. |
