They realised themselves that an invasion attempt on Britain would be fruitless, and then diverted military focus towards Russia, who eventually managed to defend itself and be one of the armies conquering Berlin.

If Germany would conquer Europe the USA would be fucked. So it was a win-win situation for Europe and the USA. But I don't think Hitler would win the war even without the USA help for the Allies. |

not true, the western front was greatly needed for success, the allies could not and did not have enough man power to take it, if they just went in to berlin from the north hitler would just move south. With americans comming in from the west and liberating france, it basically sealed off hitler's passage. Then Japan would've been a major threat if we hadn't ended it early with the biggies. anyway ultra why are you trying to start this again? lol? and abrams tank wasn't designed with help of germans? It just uses the cannon that was designed by the germans for the leopard 2, but improved. |

No, Germany already lost the Battle of Britain in 1940. There was not a chance Germany could take Britain anymore after that. I'm almost sure Germany would be defeated around 1950 by the Russian on the Eastern Front, by the UK in Western Europe and Africa and by all oppressed countries from the inside. Germany had to materials nor the manpower to keep fighting so long. It would have been gg with or without the USA(it would only take longer). |

lol. Russia lost 2 million men in one battle for one city, germany lost 500,000. If Hitler used full forces he could have taken Stalingrad, but he had to divide his forces to take on the western front being fought by american soldiers and some UK and canadian. Also if you didn't know, Britain was getting smacked in the ass by the daily Luftwaffe raids, they had like no factories, or anything left. The french resistance needed backup and support in order to take on the forces stationed there, thats where America came in, liberating france and italy and closing the south door shut, thus trapping Hitler from all sides with the russians on the east and the allies on the north. Not to mention after defeating Hitler, what would you guys do about Japan? Germany had everything it needed, man power was fine, until it was stretched too thin with 3 fronts, as well as American air raids on its railways/factories. Everyone knows about the B2 bombing runs. Also, only thing Germany lacked was the resources needed to produce a nuclear bomb, which it was trying to achieve. Anyone who had nukes wins, America got nukes first and used them to end the war. You can't deny what America did in the war and I'm not sure why would you want to. |

Also, Hitler was too cocky and split his forces that he would assign to take Stalingrad. The plan was to take the VITAL oil fields to the east..or south? of stalingrad first, then move on to take the doomed city, but he got cocky and just split his forces. Russia won by pure luck, imo. |

That doesn't say anything lol. Hitler really tried to get Stalingrad. It was not only a matter of stragety but it was also a moral battle. He had to win it to show the Germans that Germany was still unbeatable, so Hitler really gave everything he could in Stalingrad. 80% of Germany's soldiers fought on the Eastern front. This was true in the Battle of Britain. After 1940 Germany lost the air. SO after 1940 Britain began to start raiding Germany, and after 1942 did the British raided the German cities in the mornings and the Americans raided Germany in the evenings(or the other way around). Not that this harmed the German industry, they had everything under the ground. - French was not the only country with resistance. - lol you sound if the USA did that all in 2 weeks. - where in the North? In Sweden? Norway? I wasn't really talking about Japan but than, Japan was too far away for Europe and Japan was getting kicked bu the Aussies, the British in India and the Chinese so that was also a matter of time before all the allies could move to the Asian front. With the liberation of Apeldoorn(my homecity) did the Germans had to run away from the Allied soldiers(Canadians in this case). My great grandparents lived at the road to the north of the Netherlands. That day were a group of 10 German soldiers sitting at the stairs in my grandparents house, crying for their mom. It was just a group of kids of 14-15 years old. My grandparents say that it was so sad to see. So this is what the German army was in 1945, there wasn't really anough manpower. How would the German army look like if the war took 5 years longer? An army of babies? See above. They used them to win the Pacific war, not the European war. And like you said did Germany not had the recources to get a bomb so that's not a good argument to say that WWII(on the European front) would not be win by the Allies without the USA. Japan couldn't build a bomb either. I'm not denying anything. They did a great job just like all the other Allies, Germany had to be stopped no matter what. But this still doesn't take away that I think Germany would loose the war with or without the USA as its enemy, but the war would just last much longer without the USA. All the green countries were Allies, they really could stop Germany:  |
