Sabs Posts: 3,277 Group: A414A Member Member #57 Joined: April 16, 2008	I recently started learning about French History in my school and it has really stuck to me. In detail we are learning about the French Revolution during the late 1700's and the Rise and Fall of Napoleon. I have just finished learning about how France pwnzrs all off those mofo Austrians and the Dutchies. I also loved seeing pics of Louis XVI getting raped at the guillotine. Amazing history IMO, and I used to think Europe didn't have much of one. IMO European history only got interesting after the 1600's, and not he stupid Middle Ages, Renaissance and all that BS.

Sigh Revolutions rock, but the French one is definitely one of the sexiest. Russian 1st IMO.

That was my teacher's metaphore. Don't think Euro history is boring, ever. We shaped the world, don't anyone forget that. ^^

Russian 1900 onwards is good history.

Moo. Posts: 5,434 Group: Member Member #130 Joined: October 15, 2008	I think France has a rich history, but it's not nearly my favorite history subject. IMO the Italians, Turks, Greeks (before Constantinople fell) and English are the most interesting of all.

As many fights as there are in boxing that are rigged, it's really not anymore realistic these days than wrestling is. I'm a fan of wrestling partially because of my age. I was a kid when wrestling was really big in the 80's and I was in my late teens when the Attitude Era hit in the late 90's and early 2000's. I've basically been conditioned to watch it and pay attention to it, even if I don't want to. Understandable that wrestling is all staged, but I watch it like I watch anything else on TV: I watch for the purposes of entertainment. Gimmicks are dead, there's no wrestling plumbers or cowboys or burglars or whatever, it's just people doing interviews and promotions and more importantly, the wrestling itself. Yeah, they're all characters, but characters that rely on that person's individual personality and acting ability to work. If someone can't play a decent character, people don't react and that person doesn't ever get treated like anything else but a jobber (Eg, person who "does the job" and makes a career out of losing matches and never winning). Also important is the workrate of the person involved. Do they have a wide moveset? Can they do all their moves without botching them and screwing up? Can they sell being attacked and make everything look like it hurts? It's very much an elaborate form of theater, but there is a certain competition or sport to it: if you can't play your role very well, you don't get pushed. And if you don't get pushed, you don't win titles or get booked by the writers to win big matches against people. And if you don't get that, you'll usually get canned.

Being a champion in wrestling does not mean a thing in comparison to sports like boxing. Riggings the same for every sports redemption. I dont think it happens much if at all in many sports at the highest level. Can I prove that it doesnt happen no so I cant really argue about it but IMO and I dont think you can argue at all with the fact that being the best team, player whatever you have is alot more prestigeous in a "real" sport than wrestling I know enough about wrestling to prove my point.
