Fans create friction on the air and the air blows against things, creating more friction. How does this make it cooler??

i dont think the air is actually cooler it just feels cooler because its blowing away all the warm air thats surrounding your hand. that also explains why it cools your hand/anything else thats warmer than the air

It increases the number of molecules per second that collide with your skin, thus the rate of cooling is higher.

Oh so there's more molecules to take away the heat from your body, so you cool faster, hence the cool feeling.
Now that's cool :)

But the overall temperature, in say, a confined room, would increase?

I don't know if this is true but it just came to me as a possible explanation.

PV = nRT (perfect gas rule idk english term)

By creating wind with fan, you make molecules move. Bernouilli's law (or smt lol idk english term) says that any fluid in movement has its static pressure go down. SO if P goes down, V is constant, R is a constant and n is constant, then T must also go down. So any fluid in movement, with constant volume and quantity of material (haha i really don't know the terms) sees its temperature diminish.

I believe the human body cools by having water molecules against the skin evaporate, thus withdrawing heat energy from the body; this rate of evaporation escalates in response to heightened wind speed, which is why a fan feels cool, although, in truth, any actual change in temperature is infinitisemal.

Yes, it would. The total energy though wouldn't. Quick quiz. If the energy isn't increasing, and the temperature is, and heat is energy, how is this possible? (I will slap you if you get it wrong however, so think carefully)

You're confusing the static pressure with internal pressure.

Why wouldn't the energy increase though? The fan is receiving energy from an outlet and is spinning, which transfers energy into the air, not?

The earths rotational speed is 1669.694 km/hour at the equator, therefore the air in the atmosphere is traveling close to that speed. Why isn't the atmosphere really hot?

You could simply remove your answer before anything can come from it. I mean, the longer you withhold your answer the stronger your urge to let it out will become.

If the total energy doesn't increase but the temperature does, it means that the heat in your body goes into the room. Making the temperature in the room higher..... I guess.

The fan is receiving energy, but the total energy in the confined room, like you were talking about, is the same. How is this possible if the temperature in the room is increasing? And yes incy, temperature = heat.

Huh? No this is taking too long. It's cuz the energy providing the increase in heat is stored chemical energy from your body, which is moving the fan. So the energy in the room is constant, but the heat energy is increasing.

I believe the distinction is that heat is a form of energy, whereas temperature is a means of measuring it.

Temperature is just how much heat there is. Minus temperatures don't actually mean there's negative heat, just very little of it. The kalvin scale is the best scale to demonstrate this.

I think unicorns have a higher chance of existing than gods do. I mean, if a mare fell into the ocean and a narwhal raped it, then the mare might just give birth to a unicorn.

So what is the purpose of that thing? Does it grant you a chance for a Chaos emerald if you collect 50 golden rings?
