I keep wondering about how battles fight though. tbh i've never figured out how to fight in a TW game, i would just sort have my dudes attack and maybe try to flank with cav. or something. but lol. The role of cavalry in Shogun TW is a lot different than in Medieval or even Empire. This game is a lot more infantry-based. Skirmish with archers, send infantry forward, get into melee, try to flank with heavy cavalry, keep general alive, send light cavalry in to chase down archers and routing infantry. Pretty simple stuff. That's what I did in Medieval II. Except in Medieval you can blast through most infantry with heavy cavalry, and there's a lot more cavalry vs cavalry fighting in attempts to prevent that from happening. I mean yeah, same basic concepts, since they're all modeled on "International Medieval warfare" but Shogun's way way way more reliant on infantry.
