I'm back from Brittany, not that any of you nubs were aware that I was gone on holiday thanks to me laptop. Anyway when I was there I saw my cousin making some model aircraft and I remember that I had a few of my own. To get to the point I decided to build a model or two during the summer. I've also decided to take pictures of the project. So I'll take a few shots before I start for the day and another shot when I'm finished. Comments and flames are welcome between each set of pics I post. That way you guys can see too, and then some day I'll look back at this thread and I'll see the general progression of the model I'm making. So! Some quick information: the model I'm working on is one of a P-51D Mustang (perhaps the best fighter aircraft of WW2 and maybe even one of the best fighters of all time). I started this model maybe a year ago or two but ended up getting lazy and not finishing. So now I'm gonna try to finish it before summer ends. Unfortunately one of the tires seems to be missing. kinda sucks I'll have to look into that ![]() Gotta admit the P51 looks really fine. :D Anywhoo, first set of pics that I did earlier before dinner: ![]() Here's a pic of some of the big parts (it's half of the plane) as well as the propeller that I'd assembled before. Yeah it's a little bit not very perpendicular, I broke it... but managed to "fix" it. A picture of the box since the box is so pretty. :) ![]() A pic of what I did today. You can't see very well because of the newspaper but I painted the landing gear gray. I also painted the propeller spinner red, I'll add the yellow tomorrow. I didn't do much cuz I had dinner soon.. so yeah taht's about it. OH yeah and there are two drop tanks (not bombs) that I did before as well, not too shabby. |

Oh and btw, I found a really good image hoster, it's imgur. Seriously, you can upload multiple pictures at once, it's pretty easy to use and no need to register like with imageshack to get your urls asap. It's really nice to use, totally recommend it. http://imgur.com/ Edited by Incog, Jul 15 2011, 07:06 PM.

I'll be using imgur next time, then, although the name isn't altogether enticing. |

Give it about 3 more months, then photobucket will come along and devour it. |

I doubt it, it's been ridiculously popular on reddit for over a year now. It's almost exclusively used there as the image hosting site because a redditor made it. |
