i find myself to be the most indecisive person ever. sometimes i flip coins and rubbers i've written "yes/no" on... i've already heard the whole "you'll get your answer because you know which side you want to come up" but actually no, i sorta know which side i wanna come up, and when it does, i question whether i really want it. so.. how do you guys make decisions without having to write up a "pros and cons" table?

I usually always know deep down what I really want, but sometimes I do the opposite just because it's the better choice.

You forgot to put the same number of periods at the beginning and end of the sentence, now it's not even.

I'm not a counter.

But if my punctuation or spelling is incorrect in any way, shape or form, I feel an extreme urge to fix it. I cannot type a sentence without capitalization.

Don't hesitate if you know you're not gonna get anywhere by thinking it through. Some decisions are easier when you've thought long and hard about them. For the ones that aren't, just pick the first option that came into your head.

I make up my mind based on this line of thought:

-If you do nothing, nothing changes. If you try and fail, nothing changes (but perhaps you learned along the way), but if you try and succeed, then good for you.

My other line of thought is, eventually nothing we do really makes a dent in the grand cosmic scheme, so just do what you want. (within reason of course)

the first decision i have to make is whether i want to go to a buffet with my relatives this afternoon when i can see my friends instead and i don't have the appetite for it because of the intense heat and humidity.

why i might want to go to this buffet is because.. well, despite the lack of appetite i really like buffets. it's going to be a really good one; there will be oysters, sushi, sashimi, foie gras and tons of dessert. i will also get to spend time with my gran who repeatedly asked me if i was going or not yesterday and at a ridiculous time this morning - hence why i am awake. my relatives don't come back to hong kong often so i should also spend more time with them.

why i don't want to go is because man.. it's hella hot and i hate it when people give me that sort of pressure - like they will think it's redonkulous if i don't go. i don't even have the appetite to eat much at the buffet so it doesn't make sense to go.. i already told them this last week. so it pisses me off that even when i expressed twice that i don't really have an interest in going, my gran continues to repeatedly ask me if i've changed my mind. i'm also meant to meet up my friends and would have a far better time going arcading.

so yeah. i still don't know what to do.

Yeah, I agree with Rich. It's great to be with friends if you can, but if your family wants you around, family should always take priority.

Tbh I'd pick friends because I'm not very close with relatives and they wouldn't really care if I didn't come. But I think in your situation germs you should go with your relatives because it sounds like your grandma really cares.

Yeah, you mentioned in particular your gran; after people have passed away, the things that you end up regretting are those you didn't do with them.

well i'd go with friends, i don't care much about relatives and see them often enough for my taste. but that's just me, ultimately you have to decide how important you consdier it to spend time with them

i thought i should've mentioned 80% of my summer was dedicated to family.. including today..

anyway another decision to make which is actually kinda serious.

i am moving to plymouth next year for uni (my school is a joint thing between universities of exeter and plymouth so every year group is split between the two localities). due to an underestimation of people going to plymouth, the school realised too many people are due to start uni there this year, and are offering for some of us to go back to exeter for third year. a part of me really wants to go back to exeter because it is safe (the population is mainly made up for retired nice old people); i know exeter like i know the back of my hand; and it's around two and a half hours away from london where my mum would sometimes have flights over so we can spend one or two day together. a fourth year also told me teaching in exeter is better than plymouth.

however, again it's the friends thing: my friends and i already signed a contract for the house we'll be living in for september. it was a HUGE deal when we were trying to sort out housing because i didn't want to live with too many people and my friends are also picky people when it comes to living with each other.. so it'll seem like i'll burn a few bridges by backing out. then again to be fair personally i can't stand living with other people i'm going to see constantly at uni and i feel like friendships are generally more or less ruined by living with each other.. there has been a few examples this year alone and so i might as well move out if damage is going to be done anyway. saying that, plymouth seems FUN although also super dodgy and rough. it is no where near exeter in terms of safety so i'm kinda apprehensive about that.. but it's bigger than exeter and everyone who had first and second year in plym seems to love it. also a majority of my friends will be in plymouth, in exeter i won't know anyone cos they've just moved from plymouth to exeter for years three and four. i know it's about my studies and not friends, but i get homesick as it is already in the uk and this year has been so much better having a firm group of friends who i can pretty much count on. also, i'm worried that i'll regret it if i've never experienced plymouth, but i don't exactly want to be there for two years..

i guess i have pretty much made up my mind even if i type this, but i always kinda rethink everything and doubt what i've decided so it would be great to get some input ;__; oh and thanks for the feedback about the buffet. it was good and i didn't eat until it hurt so :D

Plymouth isn't exactly known for it's gang crime and shootings and it's only like another 30 mins of so on your journey time.
Plus if everything is sorted for Plymouth should be fine.

I have to commute through Tottenham, Stoke Newington and Camden so Plymouth to me would be a walk in the park.

I think unicorns have a higher chance of existing than gods do. I mean, if a mare fell into the ocean and a narwhal raped it, then the mare might just give birth to a unicorn.
