English has a very developed vocabulary due to the enormous influence it has derived from all other European languages.

I don't think that English is hard to learn. So many foreigners speak it no problem. It's just called practice. And there's plenty of that if you don't live under a rock.

English isn't precisely hard to learn; it's an excessively liberal language.

I don't think many languages are hard. It's just people expect learning a ubiquitous, universal language like English to be as easy as a language they rarely use, and when reality knocks, they think one language is harder than the other.

i don't think languages are ever generally hard either, just hard for those whose first language is far from similar to the new one. that's why dutch is considered such a hard language by english people. it's just not anything like english. for us it's easier because we grow up hearing english almost every day.

English has only one word for the. GG rest of languages. der die das wtf is that.
In battle, in the forest, at the precipice in the mountains,
On the dark great sea, in the midst of javelins and arrows,
In sleep, in confusion, in the depths of shame,
The good deeds a man has done before defend him.

Dutch and English are a lot alike. Superficially they're different but that's what discourages Anglophones from learning it. That and Dutch isn't spoken by enough people to really justify taking the time to learn it. It's not like Spanish or French where there's a lot of people who speak it, including in a relatively close proximity to our own country. How many people live in the Netherlands, and how many Dutch speakers are there on this side of the world?

Yeah because English is a one-sex language, making the language gay. German is tri-sexual, god knows how they managed it.

French is just right because it has masculine and feminine. Perfection.
