Yeah but the main problem here is that I am a combination of 2 characters, warrior and thief. Well all I want from thief is the sneak. Im thinking of going red guard and just trying to build my sneak up

That's fine; "Sneak," is the main aspect of combat with the thief, anyway, and Skyrim is designed to allow you to combine roles in whichever way you choose.

if you have a shield, the perk that lets you slow time when someone power attacks you is sooooo necessary

The lack of ability to kite as a melee character really pisses me off. I have the bow leveled pretty good but I haven't put many points into it because I need them for armor and two handed and smithing.
I kite like Muhammad Ali with my melee dude. And I wear the thickest heavy armor. :p

No seriously, go to the north get the Steed Stone. You move much faster with heavy armor and you can carry so much more shit (personally I find it invaluable). Btw it's an in-game mechanic that backpedaling is much slower than moving forward. So when someone comes at you and starts swinging, I find it best to move off to the side, where your speed isn't as hindered. Works well enough for dodging blows. Then you move forward and power attack, which staggers your opponent, leaving you the time to move away again. I usually have the fast healing spell ready at this point and automatically heal if I take any damage. Works well.

Then again I have no experience working with two handed. I much prefer one handed as it's much more versatile, since you can have a shield, a spell or dual wield with the other hand. Btw, power attacks with dual wielding with the right perks and upgraded swords is amazing at deal damage. Fuck high level destruction spells and arrows and poisons and sneak. Nowadays when I'm fighting a dragon I wait for him to land and go to the side and start power whacking at him (with the Etheral Shout ready in case I need to get away). Easily the most efficient way of disposing of a dragon.
Wtf that stone is op :O
And I'll stop using warhammers then and get a greatsword because warhammers have ridiculously slow swing times.

Yeah, swords are the only practical melee weapons imho; the others are too slow to warrant their use.

So I have a sword made out of glass and it's stronger than steel.

I could lv100 smithing in 15 minutes but cba. Would rather look for stuff as the game progresses. I killed alduin now so I'm not sure what else is left really.

Yeah there are other questlines that are just as good (maybe even better) than the main quest line. Honestly I just got jumped by a dragon and called my dragon buddy to help me. Have to admit that it was kinda cool seeing two dragons fight. Annoying that the dragon attacked just as I was going to storm a fort with mages in them. 3 way fight with dragons on two different sides.

Steed stone eh? Yeah, that's the same one I use. What's particularly interesting is not only that heavy armor doesn't really slow you down, it also doesn't weigh anything, and that includes shields, so long as it's all being worn.

Also, Block Runner is a pretty sweet perk. You can keep block up and not lose hardly any mobility. Really great for fighting heavy enemies like frost trolls, dragons, dwarven centurions and the like.

I prefer fast healing to shields. Especially with the stamina perk, if you use swords to fight. With the steed stone you get mobility and then it's so easy to run in, power attack, go back out, restore stamina. Add an atronach and/or companion as cannon fodder and you're set. That's all companions are good for really btw, as well as carrying items. Oh and yeah heavy armor not weighing anything just blows your carrying capacity out of the water.

I noticed a glitch with Steed Stone--might be a one time thing--but I noticed that when I had a complete set of Orcish armor on, when I picked up another set of it, and it didn't weigh anything either. I don't know if that applies to all armors, or if it was just a one-time glitch (I sold the extra set so I didn't know if that feature lasted).

I use fast healing and the shield; since my character has a low magicka cap, I only use healing periodically, and instead use the shield if I'm going one-handed. But I play a two-hander and the block runner perk is great with that. I can go in with huge swings, and then put block up and move around quite freely, rinse and repeat.

When I played a mage, I had Mjoll the Lioness on my team. Now that I'm playing warrior...I still have Mjoll on my team. :P

Does anyone else have a crashing problem? The thing crashes every 15 minutes and it's getting really annoying...

Yea I did and it doesn't make sense because sometimes I can play for hours and it won't crash then all of a sudden it will crash 4 times in an hour.
Gonna bump the difficulty up the the hardest because the game is getting way too easy.

I don't have enough Magicka for that to be effective and I don't think my destruction is high enough. Besides swords are cooler.

Must say I am really impressed with the game. Got really into it. So many options. One of those games I could complete then start right over again and do it completely differently

Oh yeah, that reminds me. There's a big group of bandits in spot to the west of WhiteRun, almost right under the city. They're in some sort of shelter.

Well the bandits there are harder to kill than anything else I've ever faced in the game lol.
