btw incog, ye the game is hard, until you get the impact perk (destruction lvl 40). trust me, if you want the game to be a challenge, don't get it. it's WAY too strong. |

I feel like the first person pov kind of limits the experience. You don't get to see what your character looks like and the environment is narrowed. |

ive played it on master from the start. at the start kiting is really important and i got raped by mages a lot, but companion + summoned shit always saved me. challenging though. but since i have impact its just so easy. companion died now so i'm on my own but i dont even need to summon shit anymore, i just nuke them while they're stunned the whole time. i can even do it to 2 ppl at the same time although then i do run oom (out of mana) if they have enough health. thing is i have a lot of mana and sick mana regen items so i hardly ever get oom and can spam that shit the whole time. no one gets close to me. you can even interrupt things, like when a dragon blows fire in your face you can just stun him instantly and take no dmg. the only enemy in the game i still have trouble with (ie it takes me like 15 mins to kill one of them and they 2 hit me) are lichs. they fuck my shit up. |

You can play it in 2nd or 3rd person? I just saw from game play vids that everything was 1st person. I don't actually have it because my motherboard overheats my graphics card whenever I play a higher end game. |

I got Skyrim a few days ago. I'm playing Argonian. Fuck your magic. Fuck your swords and axes. I run around from place to place with a bow and a knife, sneaking up on shit, cause that's what I do. |

Yeah, my laptop does that too. I need to make stilts to raise it off the table. I do not like fantasy elements in games. I think it's lame and overdone. A person should have to work for their kill, not press a button to cast a deadly spell. Happy hunting. |

If you're playing on the hardest level then there's no such thing as an easy kill imo. Especially if you're doing the old cloak/dagger scheme. It's actually hard to sneak up on people, really hard. I guess you could refer to mages who have powerful spells and what you said sort of applies to them. But even they have to keep running around to not get killed. All in all it's still a hard game.^^ |

Jack, why don't you just lower the graphics settings? My comp is probably much worse than yours. The important part is the game, not the graphics. I doubt on lower settings your motherboard would heat. Or would it? Idk. Red are you playing on PC? |

it's the only way to play this game on hardest difficulty. and don't say i don't have to work for my kills. maybe now i don't because impact is so OP, but before i had that it was about kiting 1 target for 5 mins before finally killing it and those weren't even the strong targets. killing the first lich i encountered took me an hour, counting all the times i died. |

Apparently they're not that strong against normal weapons. Serves you right going mage. ![]() Also I have a question. If I'm destruction level 20 and destruction level 25, are my spells going to do the same damage if perks are identical on destruction? |

yeah i think it's like oblivion, your spells do the same damage but cost less mana to cast. also if you're level 25 you can buy apprentice level spells so actually you would also be doing more dmg. |

I'm going on Normal because that's always the most "balanced." In most (not all, there are some notable exceptions that are still fun for me on highest difficulties) games the AI isn't any better on higher difficulty levels, it just gets cheaper by getting beefed up on stats but that's about it. Enemies like draugr and necromancers aren't supposed to take endless time to kill. Their higher-level versions are always supposed to be dangerous, but lower-level ones are supposed to be kind of weak to a player of decent level. Though that isn't to say that, even at this level, I can go around killing everything haplessly. There's a few places I've had to withdraw from because of the mobs of high-level enemies that could each kill my character in about for hits, but since level locks once you enter a "dungeon" you can level up and come back later when you're ready. |

Normal is too easy. ^^ On top level you really have to make sure you don't get hit by anything because most powerful enemies will one hit KO you. It's "normal" that you should be weak against most enemies early game I believe. |

actually since the AI is stupid and almost always of a worse level than you i wouldn't say it's balanced at all. anyway it's about whether you want a challenge or just a role playing experience. and since someone said something about playing a mage being lame because you don't have to work for your kills, i'm just saying if you tune the difficulty a bit you definitely have to work for your kills. and i 2 hit draugr, restless ones i 6 hit etc. i know they're not supposed to be tough enemies, and they aren't. dragons however are supposed to be tough enemies, and when i see my friends playing on adept and just killing dragons with complete ease, even standing in their fire like it's nothing, i wonder which difficulty really is the imbalanced one.. |

i've never tried to kill a giant, as for dragons yeah the fights used to be a real challenge but now i can outheal anything and since i have impact i don't actually get hit anymore either so no i don't have a hard time anymore. it seems like the perks are a little too strong in this game and even on master level nothing is a challenge anymore on level 15+ only lichs are trouble. they don't die and depending on their staffs do sick damage. |
