Giants are easy meat. I can think of two efficient ways of killing them and recently I've been looting Giant camps with impunity, even going on two at once. What you need is the full Unrelenting Force shout. It knocks giants over (which makes you feel super badass btw) and once they're on the ground getting up, I power attack with dual swords. I've got the right perks for dual wielding which means that I can take out half a Giant's health in the time it takes them to get back on their feet. Another thing you can do is dual wield Firebolts with the Impact perk. It stuns them for a bit and you can lolligag all you want around them. Doing a spell/sword/shout combo makes giants die SO easy. :D

The inventory is pretty annoying. Is there a reason to keep books and ingredients?
Ingredients are for alchemy. Alchemy is one of the best moneymakers in the entire game, especially if you can figure out how to make the finer potions. If you need specific numbers, you can refer here:

http://www.endoftheweb.se/skyrim/index.php

Books are just for fun, and I always put spare books that aren't worth much money on shelves or, failing that, in the alchemy room's trunk in Breezehome.

As for ruined books...if you're playing a mage, you'll want to have those for the Atronach Forge.

hardest difficulty is fun until you get 100% reduced destruction spell costs by enchanting or when you absorb so much health and stamina with every swing of your blade that its almost like god mode. also powerleveling smithing kinda ruins the fun of working your way up the armor.

I've been powerleveling 2 handed but now i'm starting to get some other ones. I'm doing the thiefs guild tree for some reason... god damn this game is addicting.
In battle, in the forest, at the precipice in the mountains,
On the dark great sea, in the midst of javelins and arrows,
In sleep, in confusion, in the depths of shame,
The good deeds a man has done before defend him.

Lol yeah, I just smithed iron daggers to get Daedric armour super early. Now I feel like there's nothing to work towards in terms of items. :P

I used to farm top with Nasus, but then I took an enchanted crystal arrow to the knee...

I think unicorns have a higher chance of existing than gods do. I mean, if a mare fell into the ocean and a narwhal raped it, then the mare might just give birth to a unicorn.

I powerlevel a bit but not excessively. I abuse iron daggers just to get my smithing up enough to improve the equipment I have. Started a new character, Redguard spellsword.

The best thing about Skyrim is the thrill that you derive from taking the armour off of dead female enemies and then moving their naked bodies around and pressing them into awkward positions.

Because you're gay.

More seriously though it's a great thing that they allow homosexual marriage in the game. Last time I played a dude so I had no problem just marrying a woman (it gives you money and other cool shit btw). But now I'm playing a gurl and I the thought of marrying a man just disgusted the shit out of me. Rather go lez

It's fun. I did it all the time when playing Fable and Fable 2, until the towns began to run conspicuously short of women.

I wish I could get people to marry each other. Elisif should marry Naked Courier

Then he can be High King of Skyrim.

So here i am making steel battle axes to powerlevel forging when I discover you get the same xp for each thing you make. I'll be making iron daggers from now on.

You can have the same basic character with any race, but certain races have better special abilities than other ones.

Orc Berserker Rage can be a lifesaver (my favorite hand-to-hand class).

Breton magic resistance and Altmer extra magic both make them good for playing mage.

Khajiit and Argonian are the best to use if you're playing thief.

Don't powerlevel too much, especially early on--if you bring your level to high, you end up having to fight high-level mobs, even when your actual combat skills are bad.

If you want to level up Block, I have two words for you: Frost Troll.
