Why do disabled people always take up the best parking spots??

I don't understand why some people are qualified to receive more social privileges, purely in virtue of something like disability. I think it's absurd, and it does very little to promote egalitarian values when certain groups are deliberately treated with prejudice against others. A thorough and radical adjustment of the status quo is long overdue in this case! (madz) (madz)

No amount of sympathy justifies oppression. Every individual deserves the right to park their car wherever they want, regardless of nonsense restrictions put forth on the basis of collectivism.

your point is impossible to argue against really, but i do recognize the fact that these reserved parking spots don't really hinder me in any way and make a big difference for the people they are meant for. you could argue that sympathy is clouding my judgment and you'd be right.

however, getting rid of reserved parking spots for the disabled or other rules like these would make a lot of people very mad, and i don't think it's worth it. we have bigger concerns right now.

A parking lot isn't your property, you don't have the right to park wherever you want on it.

I have no problem with people with legitimate handicap concerns (broken legs, old age, etc) are using them appropriately. What pisses me off is when someone has a handicap sticker for the simple fact that they weigh 400 lbs. The fact that they take the time to get a handicap sticker so they can park close and walk less (in parallel with unhealthy eating habits) is the reason they weigh 400 lbs in the first place right? Aren't they rewarding the actions that made them handicap in the first place? I think if you weigh that much, you should be required to park in the last possible row so your fat ass has to do a little exorcise to get to the sugary demon food you are most certainly there to purchase. I hate seeing a fat person get out of a car (the car shocks push the car up 3-4 inches without the increased weight), pull out the cane, and mosey inside about the speed of an oversized sloth with no regard to those trying to find a parking spot still, to drive around in a motorized scooter. DANM!!!!

Even when I see a close parking spot (wind, snow, rain, or shine) I pick a back parking spot because I don't mind walking and I prefer to leave it open for the possibility of someone who needs it to get it. I have seen people try to get one so I will pull into the spot until they pass, then pull out behind them. I had someone chew me out for it once. I try to leave close spots for pregnant people or people with kids (you will understand when you get kids).

I think unicorns have a higher chance of existing than gods do. I mean, if a mare fell into the ocean and a narwhal raped it, then the mare might just give birth to a unicorn.

That it would happen or that someone would get mad about it? I am assuming the former because there are so many fat people here (it is true).

That being said, we are no longer the "fattest" country in the world. I know some people it is due to genetics but for the most part, it is lazy over-eaters...

There is a joke I heard that is actually kind of funny. I hope there are no Mexican people on these forums but here it goes.

Why doesn't Mexico have a successful Olympic Team? Because everyone who can run, jump, or swim has already made it across the border.

In all seriousness though, things as I understand it are getting much better in Mexico though. They are doing the opposite of what America is doing. Where America is loosing its middle/white collar class, Mexico is getting a healthier one. The decline in poverty is one of the top reasons for the jump in obesity in Mexico. The vast majority of deprived children there are now able to afford simple things such as a decent home and food. Their mind set however is still in the thought of; eat as much as I can as I may not get another meal for a while, even though they can now afford to eat.

A vast majority of the jobs that once WAS the "middle class" are going overseas to other countries where it is cheaper to manufacture goods. These countries do not currently have OSHA regulations, and have not yet developed unions for worker benefits. They work for next to nothing. Unions played a significant role in getting better work conditions/benefits, but now just drive costs up in america. They are good starting out an idea of the best workplace but eventually do more harm than good. Someday these other countries will go through the same revolution of working conditions, but by then the factories will already be there, which means they will just stay there.

The principle of the union is an excellent one. Communication between the boss and the employee to set up fair wages and good working conditions.

Unions in France are ridiculously abusive. They cost millions in upkeep and generally simply slow down everything instead of streamlining communication between opposing parties and finding compromises. Unions need to be destroyed in France and we need actual useful unions to take their place. The same thing applies to the public sector, where there are simply too many people compared to what's needed. In the light of our enormouse deficit, the very existence of these public employees is appalling.

I'm for health care, education, public transport and all those amazing things. But those can easily be run with better managment and less people in them.

Another problem with the public sector is that they're basically state employees. yet, it's possible for politicians to go back to being state employees when they're done in the government. I'm sure you all realize where the problem in that is. They have 70% ish of the seats in the government.

I agree, we should abolish trade unions and create a one-party state founded on the principles of central economic planning and collective organisation.

I never said to abolish them, I said to calm them down. Unions in France aren't really unions anyway, they're corrupt officials who create problems to justify their job.
